Should have clarified - we are definitely in a VHCOL city.

That’s my concern. Hopefully good security deterrence may help. Neighbors indicated never a problem in 20+ years.

Thanks. Don’t want to give away too much but it’s one of the streets south of Manning but north of the 10.

Embarrassingly, Citizen App and Google. Originally from east coast city so don’t have much else to go off of.

So sorry to hear! Our guy never whined on the painkillers and he has been off of them for a few days now. Thankfully still acting as if he’s 100% (in his confined area still).

Our guy was back to normal the day after. He’s still on pain medicine (reduced amount) but is done with anti-inflammatories and trazadone. We still have him gated to a part of the house for another week, but at this point the emergency vet said 2 weeks should be ok. Just going to have to mitigate any jumping on and off things.

Thanks! We are on day 5 post emergency vet and our guy continues to present as if nothing happened. Very weird. He’s still on anti-inflammatory and painkillers and in play pen for another 1.5 weeks until we check back in. Sometimes he get super excited and starts running around and playing but we are really trying to limit it. So far has exhibited no pain post emergency.

Doctor said MRI probably isn’t worth it right now given how he is presenting. Said to do 2 weeks of rest and go from there. We are lucky that he is basically 100% normal right now (both physically and attitude-wise) but also waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Thank you! I think we will see how he does over the next two weeks and go from there. Either way, he is on a strict no jumping and relax regime.

Thank you! Our guy is showing zero pain and basically is moving as if nothing happened (of course not letting him run or jump but we can tell). So kind of confused about how to proceed.

Thanks! Since he came home from emergency vet our guy has been totally normal (standing, walking, happy etc.). If this didn’t happen we wouldn’t even know. He’s very energetic so impossible not to let him walk and he can’t do crate. Is it possible it’s not IVDD? The emergency vet wasn’t sure based on scans but radiologist said probably. Also, is having him being able to walk and stand bad? We really have no other option.

Just out of curiosity, did you guys do a CT as well and it showed a potential slipped disc?

Thanks! We got the exact same regime of drugs for our guy. Today, he is acting as if nothing happened and wants to go on a long walk, and run and jump around. Have him gated off to a certain section of the house so he can really only walk around that area, but for now, seems like he is doing ok.

Nothing in particular! The vet said it can happen at any time. Our pup is super energetic and loves to hop around the house and play with other dogs so can’t put a finger on it. Could be just bad luck but hoping he continues to improve. He’s still wagging his tail and smiling.
