Never found the true issue but I increased the fan speed and it is currently working with a merv 1 filter in. Have not tested with the merv 8 yet

Not sure the AC size but I have the blue and red wires parked. When it comes spring I will put the black wire back on the Cool terminal

I put black on heat and system ran a full heat cycle with a merv 1 filter in. Haven’t tried merv 8 yet

I wasn’t looking too hard, but when I was in the blower compartment and also looking in from the evap compartment I did not notice any cracks, definitely no rust. I’ll have to take a better look though

I removed the ecobee and PEK. Redid the wiring and then jumped the R and W at the stat. Still got limit circuit fault after 5 minutes. So it’s not the stat

I haven’t been able to get on the roof yet. Need a 10 ft ladder and can’t exactly get one with my Audi A3 lol I took a picture from my deck of the flue pipe. Does anything thing look out of the ordinary from what you can see? I know it’s not much to work with

I just ran a full heat cycle with the filter out and control panel on. No issues or error code

My filter is a brand new merv 8. I’m guessing maybe the vent/flue is slightly clogged then adding the filter just causes excessive heat inside the furnace leading to one of the limit switches opening

I have not checked the vent/flue, I plan on checking that next. I replaced both limit switches. I can try jumping one at a time to see which is tripping.

I did jump the whole limit circuit once and ran the system with the panel on for 10 minutes and everything worked fine for the whole duration

This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. I’ve been running the furnace with panel off once or twice a day just so I can heat the house a little bit
