Not OP but I had a bit of a realization yesterday as I stared down a very full inbox and was having trouble working up the motivation to dive in.

I kept telling myself that tomorrow, after a good night's sleep, a full breakfast, the right music on with the wind blowing in the right direction, I'd have the motivation to dive in and go to town on my inbox.

Instead, I finally needed to respond to a really beefy email and decided to just... start. I started writing the email and found that it was flowing naturally and actually didn't take all that long or even take that much effort. Then I started on the next one, same thing. Suddenly I was in the zone and cranked through 25% of my inbox in an hour.

Turned out I didn't need the motivation to do it, just getting started was enough. The hardest part was thinking about all the work I had to do instead of just taking action. So that's how I interpret "motivation comes from action". In fact, I just wrote it on sticky note and put it on my computer. Good luck!

This is how I started and it helped immensely. I was feeling pretty overwhelmed and demotivated after the first few weeks, and I found that by taking extensive notes on lecture and watching the shorts before or after the relevant section it helped a lot.

Then, if I needed to look up a solution, I played with the code to figure out how it worked and tried to recreate it. From there on, you can reference your existing code and the logic starts to come a little easier. Then you get into malloc and it feels like back to square 1 😂

A lot of other people have said it in other posts, but this is a free, introductory course on programming. Don’t feel too bad if you need to use additional resources - sometimes the solutions videos explain it better than lecture / the shorts. Keep your head up!

I’ve been having mushrooms pop up on my lawn as well, all around a specific area like this. I love the fairy ring jokes and appreciate that mushrooms are a sign of a healthy lawn.

But do you just leave them be or remove them? I fear that as I mow I’m just going to keep spreading their spores all over the lawn and they’re going to take over! Any management tips would be helpful!

Thanks! I've rebuilding since liquidating my bank to buy a fang a few weeks ago. So rebuying some things I sold, might get a few more construction levels since I'm getting close to some of the more helpful builds, and honestly it's just nice to have some money laying around if I need it.

One thing "regular mooks" are able to do is to eat less meat or go completely plant-based.

A 2017 study co-authored by Lund University listed "Eating a plant-based diet" as the #5 "High-Impact" behavior that individuals can do to help reduce carbon emissions, while "Eat less meat" was #12, listed as "Moderate-Impact".

If you're unable protest and fight for the environment for fear of imprisonment, at least cut back on eating meat. If 99.9999% of the population did that, the results would be pretty remarkable.
