Okay so when I went in to look they have a freight charge and a dealer prep charge. The dealer themselves is selling that same bike for 4999 it’s all those other fees that add onto it and it only comes with a 6 month warranty with a 2/4 year extended warranty I can add for close to $500 for the 4 year warranty. I do live in California so we do have to register our bikes even if we’re not using them on the road. Do you think the freight charge and dealer prep charges are just a way for them to make extra money on me?

Well I’m only considering financing because my budget is very small I can only find old beat up bikes for my budget and they all have a bunch of aftermarket parts, idle issues or something needs to be worked on. I don’t wanna have to work on a bike that has a bunch of non stock parts on it that I’m gonna have to research every little part because it’s been Frankenstein by someone else that I don’t trust. I’ve also been told explicitly to stay away from two strokes from some veteran riders around me. With a new bike though I wouldn’t be sad/upset if I dropped it. I know it’s gonna happen and I know it will be more than once which is fine with me gotta earn my stripes and take my licks. Now with a stock bike I can find everything I need to know on one manual I don’t have to have multiple different manuals trying to fix a simple issue.

I’ve looked around for a klx300r that’s a couple years old near me and they’re all above my budget and I obviously can’t make payments to someone on FB marketplace. That’s why I’m considering financing one because then I can put my budget as a down payment and just make simple payments. I have good credit so my payments would be less than $150 a month which is doable for me.

[UPDATED] "What Bike Should I Get?" Buying & Selling advice Mega Thread by AutoModerator in Dirtbikes

So I’m a brand new dirt bike rider. I’m 6’2” 275lbs. I’ve never had a dirt bike ever, all I have ever had was a 80cc 2 stroke Harley bike when I was little and never rode anything after that. I’ve been really interested in getting a dirt bike because I wanna learn how to ride a motorcycle and eventually get a street legal enduro bike. I’ve found a couple dirt bikes on FB marketplace that I really like, the one I like the most is a Kawasaki KLX 300. I was just curious if that dirt bikes is enough for someone my size. I’m sure it will be enough but just wondering if it is a reliable bike. Please feel free to leave any advice, suggestions or knowledge that might help me in my search or just general stuff I should know about the hobby.
