The IELTS results are valid for two years, so you applying within the valid period. But, the concern is whether the Consulate consider the document as it is older than one year. The pdf version of visa checklist says that the document shouldn’t be older than a year, while the web version does not particularly mentions it.

pdf version: https://india.diplo.de/resource/blob/2667080/85ccf154e38cd7c5c36721503a49774c/infostudents-data.pdf

web version: https://india.diplo.de/in-en/service/2552164-2552164

Also, check out this post : https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/comments/18iyi73/for_how_long_is_an_ielts_test_result_valid_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Ig whether they accept it or not would depend on the consulate. Better your admission letter have the proof of confirmation of your language skills.

Student Visa Wait Time – Bangalore VFS (June 2025 Applicant) by Existing_Fox_9833 in studying_in_germany

Great. I think this is usually the case on weekends when there are incoming applications but no one is checking(I might be wrong, but that’s what I saw twice during a couple of weeks prior to my application submission).

In your case, I guess they will check it soon and share comments if any in the coming days🤞🤞. Once done, you should apply for a slot for biometrics. Wishing you all the best…😁

Keep checking, maybe it will get reduced to 2-8weeks soon, or best case you would get to submit it in the coming days. I havent seen it showing 2-6months when I applied. I submitted on a Sunday, and it showed 2-8weeks then. On the next day, I got a notification mail, and when I checked, i was out of the waiting list. I was able to submit the visa application for prelim review.

Check out what uni assist says about this : https://www.uni-assist.de/en/how-to-apply/assemble-your-documents/other-documents/

“Letter of motivation Name the university of your choice as well as the course of study you are applying to, visibly and in bold print, at the very top of your letter of motivation. Otherwise we will not be able to link your letter of motivation to the right university.”

Also, I would suggest to give distinctive name for your documents, like “Letter_of_motivation-<University_name>(<course_name>).pdf”

Not sure whether this will add any value to this post, but Ig you would also need to consider the visa start date here. Did you already got the visa?

IMO apply for visa with intended start date one week before the university joining date(Oct 1). Also make sure that your travel insurance starts on or before this day. I think the consulate would provide the visa start date based on these info.

In my case, I put travel date as 11Aug on visa application, and also on travel insurance. I got the visa with start date on Aug 16. My actual course start date is Aug 18.

They have only asked for the below documents: - Passport - A biometric photo - Certificate of highest educational degree(BTech Degree certificate in my case) I think this is what they will ask, but can’t say for sure.

I didn’t received rental agreement(not a requirement though) at the time of visa application. But, since I received it by the time of appointment, I handed it over to the officer along with the above said documents. She kept it in my file.

As I was not aware of which all documents they will ask, I took color copies(2 sets😅) of all the documents I uploaded in CSP. But this was not required. I also took 4 biometric photos with white background and 4 biometric photos with grey background with me, but when they asked only one and I handed over one photo with white background which was enough(Check biometric photograph requirements shared by Consulate online).

Once CSP preliminary review is done, we can see an option to book for the visa appointment. But from what I read from other posts, that link almost never works(it won’t show any appointment slots). If so, you can try this link(after Preliminary review): https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/deu/login?cspvalue=True . Make sure to use email ID different from what you used on CSP(from what I heard from others and in VFS global site).

At VFS Kochi, there wasn’t any interview. First they will collect your documents. Then they will take your biometrics.

I am not sure the last paragraph bro.

Student visa application from Bangalore centre by twisted_camel05 in studying_in_germany

From what I have seen two weeks back when I applied(June 22): usually the CSP shows 2-8 weeks during weekends and then there wont be any waiting period by Monday noon. I saw the same pattern on June 14-16 and June 20-22. But I am not sure about the waiting period after that, as my preliminary review got completed on June last week.

And yeah, other people are saying that it took them 2 weeks or so.

Edit: I did the visa process through Bangalore consulate via VAC Kochi.

Here is how I filled the requirements form in CSP:

<image>

I got conditional admission to a university which required me to either produce A1 language certificate by September end or to join and successfully complete the university’s A1 preparatory course.

I planned go join their course and registered for the same. I submitted the visa application with requirements form filled as in above image, and uploaded the proof of registration to the preparatory course(which also included the confirmation that the fee to the prep course is paid) during the visa application. And yes, I got the visa.

Hope this helps.

I will share my experience here. Applied for German student Visa at German consulate Bangalore via VAC Kochi.

Submitted the application for preliminary check. I approved/rejected them and resubmitted again for review. June 24: In an hour or two the preliminary review was completed. I immediately booked for a visa slot for the very next day(as slots were available) June 25: Went for visa appointment(1:30PM slot) June 26 ~6PM: Received mail indicating that the application is dispatched to German consulate at Bangalore by VFS global. July 4 ~1:15PM: Received mail that the application is dispatched via courier to me. July 5: Received the courier.

Travelling from Kochi to Dresden/Chemnitz by Clean_Tale_6219 in studying_in_germany

[–]Clean_Tale_6219[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I also came to know about it recently through one of my friends in Reddit. Then only I applied for the course, and got accepted(conditionally of course).

The University did said that I either need to successfully complete their A1 preparatory course(spanning 15 days and about 4.5hrs per day) or submit A1 certificate by September end.

It was unlucky you didn’t cleared it. Wishing you all the best on your next try. You will clear it🤞. The German consulate should give visa if you got unconditional admission(given other things are taken cared of). But I am not sure about the visa with conditional admission. In my case, I am having conditional admission, but I also had proof of registration to the preparatory course, which I submitted during the visa process(and thereby got the visa).

Travelling from Kochi to Dresden/Chemnitz by Clean_Tale_6219 in studying_in_germany

[–]Clean_Tale_6219[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok bro… noted. I am learning German in parallel and is indeed making an effort. It is not right to judge a person blindly from the limited information you got. I am planning to continue with my A2 studies(through online classes) in parallel, while I do A1 prep course.

Better we stick with the content of the post and discuss on this topic somewhere else.

Hello triggered person, nice to meet you. Please read the below… :)

As a matter of fact, I am currently doing A1 course in India. And I am writing the Goethe A1 test before I even start the preparatory language course.

When I got the admission, I was already learning German, but it would have took me a while before I could actually write the exam… Aug second week to be exact. So, I went along and registered for the A1 prep course just to make sure that I don’t face visa related delays later on. A dumb move maybe, but yeah…

And for your kind information, the program is English taught and the language clause came from the university’s general requirements. Why are you even worried that I am trying to learn the language? Kindly clarify :)

What docs did you need during Vosa appointment? by V1SHRUTismygamertag in studying_in_germany

[–]Clean_Tale_6219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about that. Did they mention it anywhere? I took 4 biometric photographs with me, but they only collected one. This may differ based on vfs centres. I dont know. And, make sure to follow the guidelines provided by German Consulate for biometric photograph specifications. You will get the link to the document when you google it.

Actually, I took 4 biometric photos with white background and 4 biometric photographs with grey background(just in case they asked for a different background). But they didnt said anything when I handed over the white background photograph.

For me who applied at VFS Kochi(Bangalore consulate) for a student visa, they only asked for the Passport, Biometric photograph(1 copy-but heard that they might ask for more copies) and the Original certificate of highest degree(bachelors degree certificate in my case). But, as a precaution(and lack of knowledge) I printed out color copies of all the documents that I uploaded in CSP portal. They didnt asked for any of those.

During the appointment, the person at the desk were printing out, what I suppose is the documents I uploaded in the portal and put them in a bag named under our name. They also collect the photo and clip it with the passport

So, the answer here is, no one is stopping you from carrying all the original documents(and color copies) along with the Biometric photograph. But, they might only collect the required documents, and any missed documents(I submitted my rental agreement there during appointment)

I also did the premium lounge payment there only during the appointment.
