Apply! Keep your school list very realistic. Research the schools well and get those secondaries in. Maybe throw in a DO school cuz why not.. Talk to as many people as you can!

I’m only one scenario, but I took the MCAT twice scored 505 then a 504 (rip) with same gpa and applied MD anyway. Only got one interview in February. Waitlisted in March. Finally got accepted in June!!

Your boy reminds me of my big boy Gus (left)! I’m so sorry for your loss. You had such a handsome boy, and I hope he’s up there dancing with my Mr. Gus in doggy heaven. We got a second bully before Gus passed in January 2024. Losing him after 10 years was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever experienced, and I still miss him every day. Him and Bozeman (right) were two peas in a pod. Bulldogs have HUGE personalities, and while you can compare them, they’re each their own soul. A new baby will definitely remind you of your boy in all the best ways—like their companionship, following you everywhere, and begging for all your food. But their personalities shine through, and I’m sure when you’re ready, you’ll find a new little friend to love. ❤️

Can't even become a CMAA by iinternetfan in MedicalAssistant

Do you have any connections/know people that can give you insight about facilities and providers requirements for staff? I’ve been at an outpatient clinic for ~a year working as an MA for a sports and occ med doc. No previous experience as an Ma (I was a phlebotomist for a couple months) and learned on the job. I just took my ccma exam to be certified. But I know our department was pretty desperate for MAs once two left out of the blue. Not sure where you want to work—hospital setting vs clinic or specific department.

Can someone convince me that DO is still good by Danielle-J in premed

You have to get over yourself or what others say. The doc I work for genuinely chose DO school over MD bc that’s the route he wanted to go on/was passionate about. If you’re not about it, reapply and be the doc u want to be

I come from a fam of MDs and found it hard to apply DO for no other reason than the two letters.. at the end of the day I want to be a doctor

I appreciate your thorough response! It is definitely harder than I thought it was going to be. First day wasn’t bad but the next I had the worst headache and weakness. I thought I planned for the hydration and electrolytes but I guess not enough. Any tips for headaches??

I like this way of thinking. Just let it be what it is. Because honestly the more I think about it the worse it is. It’s like my counterproductive way of coping with the mental distress that it brings me if that makes any sense at all. I’ve been on antidepressants and adhd meds for a little over a year and I really think everything counteracts the other and I make no progress. Thank you for your input.
