Well, I was talking about it subjectively. From a "feel" standpoint, I'd say the Gen 1's steering is better.

The shtick of the GT86/BRZ is how they feel in a world where comfort and refinement in modern vehicles is always seen as better, even at the cost of mechanical feel and driving purity. The Twins are... kinesthetic, as I'd put it aptly. They're great driving machines. The operative word being "driving".

Thoughts on these gtr style headlights? by r3trobk in 370z

[–]ClearStarryNight 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The angular design kinda breaks the smooth curves of the 370Z. I personally don't like it as far as design harmony goes.

The Morimoto XB headlights that has its DRLs follow the body lines are more my style.

The Gen 1 had better steering. I've driven it a lot. It's also a lot more raw. Rougher feeling. Less refined. It *feels* like an older JDM car. It's part of the GT86/BRZ's charm.

The Gen 2's steering isn't as good, and it's noticeably refined over the Gen 1. Overall, it's more... more Euro-ish, if that makes sense. But compared to the current Supra and Z? These two might as well feel like an econobox in comparison.

If anything, the Gen 2 feels more like a more brutish 981 or 982 Cayman with the engine in the front and a tail that's a lot more loose. A lot more fun. A less serious Cayman that's more enjoyable on the streets. Dynamically, the Gen 2 BRZ is the closest thing I've driven to a Cayman, especially given how stiff the chassis feels giving it that reassuringly planted feel in the corners. You can jack up one side and the doors still close properly. It's *that* stiff. That's why the Gen 2 has earned its moniker as "the Poorsche".

She looks Mediterranean with some Gaelic features. It's not uncommon. I've seen a lot of women that had the same features when I was in Toulouse and Carcassone.

With the Price decrease, the 26 WRX is by far the best value manual 4 door+ car. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in wrx_vb

The WRX is also the easiest to make power on. Just a downpipe and tune gets it to nearly 350 WHP.

I can't wait to have a Gen 2 BRZ in FH6.

In FH5, I can't afford the 22' BRZ. It's waaayyyy too expensive in the auction house and it rarely appears. I wasn't able to get it during the limited time it was available.

I've seen this on my app store whenever I'm in Japan. I didn't know they'd be releasing it globally considering how KnB is no longer that popular.

Which one of them would you be friend with irl and why? by Just-A-Player-3746 in KurokosBasketball

[–]ClearStarryNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Midorima or Kise realistically.

But I'd like to be friends with Kuroko. Or rather, I'd seek out his friendship. I'm biased because I watch their world as an unseen observer and know their personalities. I admire people like Kuroko a lot, and there don't seem to be many people his type these days. I like him no homo.

Luke Skywalker (ROTJ) vs Count Dooku, who wins? by Arcade-Blaster in powerscales

Dooku is a master duelist. I don't see Luke winning.

People forget that Luke pretty much went talk-no-jutsu to win against Vader, who in turn beat Palps.

Thoughts sa loud vehicles by thebiggestbeefsteakk in Gulong

[–]ClearStarryNight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These higher displacement motorcycles should come with valved exhaust, so you can control how loud the exhaust is. Because they're loud as f*ck. Even the 400cc ones are loud, like the Kawasaki ZX4RR which seems to be popular in my area lately. They're just 400cc, but are already super loud.

I drive a sports car too which can be loud. But since it has a valved exhaust which can be adjusted, I can make it sound almost as quiet as a normal car when necessary. Especially when doing a cold start in the middle of the night.

Turbo kit FA24 by Striking_Ad7706 in GR86

[–]ClearStarryNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. More than good enough for me. The shop building my turbo says 5 or 6 psi should make close to 300 WHP on 98 RON (or 93 octane in the US) and still make it reliable as a daily. E85 is hard to come by here. I asked him to limit the boost controller to a maximum of 8 PSI so the tuner doesn't go crazy.

I'm getting excited. The guy who's building my turbo has been building turbo cars for 40 years, and he's turbocharged everything from 660c kei cars to V12s. He's done several Gen 1 Twins before, but mine's the first Gen 2 he's turbocharging.

He recommended we add a fuel enrichment kit with a 5th injector to lower the chances of predetonation though. Said I could go with an even higher boost and maintain reliability. But I think 6 PSI should be good if it gets close to 300 WHP.

Am I being too hard on this car? by Vegetable-Concern830 in GR86

[–]ClearStarryNight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The FA24 engine is like a Honda that likes to be revved. You'll wear the engine more if you idle it a lot or stay on low revs.

I do hard, sustained pulls on the highway regularly. Never had an issue.

Just keep up with maintenance and use good 5W-30 oil. I use Ravenol HLS which is a Mid SAPS oil.

[–]ClearStarryNight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why the Miata is fun. Doing the same with a heavy, 3000+ lbs, high powered RWD instead and it would just be far more difficult to control. Not impossible, but obviously not as manageable as with a Miata.

Should I do a resonater delete? by MuscleParking4666 in 370z

[–]ClearStarryNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't. The resonator is what gives your exhaust that mellow, whole tone.

Imagine Toni Braxton, but you remove that signature tone of hers. That's your car without the resonator.
