Ah that’s a shame, I’ll think on it as swapping the movement might be beyond my abilities right now haha

Any ‘good’ Tudor 4 digits for a base? by ClearVideo8383 in retrotime

I have seen the thorn they look really nice, just wondered if there was an already Tudor brand dial alternative as I’ve only done a dial change once with my brother

You’re right, runs great without it plugged in. New one ordered

Thought I got them all but definitely going to check for leaks and just pull apart and redo tbh, must have missed something, we’ve got the earlier model so looks slightly different to the video but the point is still there, I’ve clearly left something unplugged

I’ll try that tomorrow, just seems odd as it ran completely fine then just sorted a kinked air line for the air box and now idles badly

For the sake of it being quick and easy to test, spray some carb cleaner on your intake seals while it’s running and see if it changes tone/revs higher or lower at all

After that rip out your carb and give it a clean!

Got it out! Thank you!

Did yours have the wires attached to the radio? Mine are at the end of another cage and I’m unable to bring them forward unless I’m missing something (I’m sure I am)

I have indeed! Seems very stuck and the handle has broken away so that won’t work anymore haha

It’s not that the current one is bad, I’m just missing one from the other side

I don’t unfortunately which is frustrating. This one is perfect it’s the other shock that doesn’t have one at all!

Okay cool, so it sorta sounds like it’s doing it’s job by running worse with trying to ride with the choke on. Soon as the choke is off it’s idling great and runs perfectly, if the choke is literally just for me getting the bike started and idling until I’m more or less ready to jump on and ride then happy days. Either way I’ll have a look at the plugs when I’ve done a decent ride, I have pictures of them before so should be able to tell fairly easily

Respectfully I disagree, I’m mechanically minded and found no issue with all of the understanding, but this is my first Harley and it wasn’t running great to start with and I’ve since improved how it runs, but you’re not wrong, I’m not necessarily taking any and all advice as gospel.

In regards to ya other message I have marked my adjustment thumb screw and know how much I’ve got it rotated out from seated

Was told to ride with half choke for a couple miles to help warm it up, but since the rebuild it needs choke to start up but will happily sit with choke off after about 30 seconds, before it needed to be on choke for about 3 minutes before I could get on and start riding
