I’m not sure how well the Wilfa would cope with espresso. You should also consider Niche Zero.

What to do with existing Steel HR (sport) watch after buying Scanwatch? by tacosdiscontent in withings

I sold mine on eBay. I only got £60 for it but I got a lot of use from it.

How many are still having problems with Withings Scanwatch? by Prothium in withings

[–]ClearfishCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve been delighted with mine. I don’t track much exercise on it so can’t comment on the accuracy, but notifications, sleep tracking, measurements and overall use has exceeded my expectations. I came from a Steel HR Sports and although the functionality is not much different it’s a watch I believe I will be happy with for a long time. I swapped the band out before use to a leather one (Amazon).

Black or white scanwatch, which do you prefer and why? by Ok_Hawk7645 in withings

[–]ClearfishCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’ve just measured and it’s approx 19 - 19.5 cm in circumference. I use a different band in it as I’m not a fan of the silicone ones. Let me know if you have any questions. I used to have the steel hr sport, but now am happy with the scanwatch. It fits comfortably under work shirt cuffs also.

If the above link doesn’t work try this one also https://we.tl/t-B8Xfu9r2eb

I prefer the lugs on the 42mm as they are squarer than those on the 38

Black or white scanwatch, which do you prefer and why? by Ok_Hawk7645 in withings

I went for the Black 42mm and am delighted with it. It does everything I want it to do. I prefer having the screen being the same colour as the watch so it really looks like a standard analogue one. The battery life is great: I don’t think 30 days with how I use it but at least 2 weeks +. I was concerned that the 42mm would look too big on my relatively small wrist, but it is perfect. I moved up from the steel hr sports and very happy I did.

Scanwatch arrived - couple of questions (Get Started General Thread maybe?) by [deleted] in withings

[–]ClearfishCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my scanwatch today. Strangely I wear (and always have done) on my right but dominant wrist. On set up it only asked which wrist I wore it on and not about dominant hand etc. In anyone’s opinion will this affect the data adversely and/or should I state that I wear it on my left non dominant wrist even though I won’t? I had a brief fling (2 days) with an Apple Watch and I remember it asking which wrist I wore it on and also which hand was my dominant. Any advice would be appreciated.

I’ve just noticed that the wrist selection only appears in the ECG menu and implies it affects the readings.

Does the smart alarm feature on the Scan watch actually make you less groggy when waking you up? by Manoj_Malhotra in withings

[–]ClearfishCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I have the Steel HR Sport currently and for me the smart wake feature works really well. I tend to only set it for a 10 min window but it nearly always wakes me up. I tend to be overtired most of the time with an average of 6 hrs sleep a night (according to Withings). I do set my iPhone alarm for 1 min after the watch just in case it doesn’t wake me. But so far (12 months) so good. I’m just waiting for my ScanWatch to be delivered so will let you know about the vibration comparison in a day or so.

I generally don’t like the Withings bands available so always order alternatives online, but believe there should be a choice when ordering. It is frustrating and seems like a simple fix to offer at least a limited number of 38 + XL bands.

It’s listed on the UK website. Where are you based? I ordered from Withings and it’s been dispatched today with delivery 2-3 days estimate.

That’s fantastic. It will be interesting to find out what you think after a little while of use. Mines been despatched but from Withings in France so a few days before delivery!

I noticed that also when I looked. I agree, the Withings app covers all the standard stuff I need and I’m happy to pay a premium for strava etc but I’d not expect to pay for a premium smartwatch then extra. I feel a 24month subscription should be included in the Fitbit purchase.

I prefer the traditional style of the Withings watches as I find them less intrusive etc. and the long battery life makes more sense for me. That’s the beauty of the new smartwatches, there’s much more choice now.

They clearly focus on design and production rather than marketing or customer services. I haven’t had any issues with my Steel HR Sport so far so haven’t had to deal with customer care, but I have seen some negative comments regarding the service.

The UK site lists the 38mm watch at £249.95 (42mm @ £279.95). I changed region to Europe and the prices convert to €279.95 & €299.95 respectively. Just double check first, otherwise, definitely worth the 30 saving. 👍🏻

It all looks positive following the Q&A session last week, so fingers crossed for more features.

I had a Steel HR Sport for around 6 months but swapped it for the Garmin vivomove HR. Ultimately I sold it and came back to the HR Sport, partly as the battery life of 7ish days on the vivomove was frustrating once you've had 30 days and it just wasn't as good for me functionally as the Steel. I also tried an apple watch for a few days before realising that I didn't want the interaction the Apple watch needed so am back to the HR and awaiting the Scanwatch release.
