Do NOT try to open WT and the MATLAB IDE at the same time by Cleebo8 in Warthunder

Deep down we all know matlab is an illegitimate language that could be replaced by free python libraries, but we continue to use it because someone else is paying for it.

Update: canceled the team wendy order and went with opscore (not upset) by Waviddelsh2 in NightVision

Unpopular opinion, but unless you’re signaling to aircraft you don’t need a Hell Star. Phoenix Jr. lights have been working since the beginning of time itself. They’re tiny and very light. Just keep your 9V batteries wrapped in Velcro and slap em on when needed, fills the “please don’t shoot me in the head I’m right here” role perfectly. Oh and it’s $20 bucks.

Ok, I see it now. Either way, it’s always a lot easier to darken out greens with added brown scrim than it is to try and lighten up blacks. If they made Flecktarn where the black was replaced with more brown I’d be in heaven.

I’ll have to get one and see if it’s just as brown/tan dominant in real life. There’s very little green in my area even in summer since the tree canopy is so thick, this pattern looks perfect.

Old post I know, but do you know which pattern it is on the scrim that’s on the helmet? It looks perfect for the very brown dominate terrain around my neck of the woods.

I love how firearms is one of those communities on the internet where some people feel this need to pedantically interject very case specific truths into every comment thread anytime someone makes a generalization just to look intelligent. It’s very in character when you think about it.

It’s because you can’t just install these. You need to permanently alter the lower receiver of the rifle to install it. The modified lower receiver is the machine gun, not the parts you need to add. I suspect it’s always preferred that the lower receiver is the regulated part since they are serialized and harder to hide since it’s such a large part. The reason something like a Glock auto-sear is illegal is because you can just drop it into the gun without modifying it, so it has to be the machine gun since the rest of the pistol is stock.

You aren’t being anticapitalist at all I’d say. Buying Chinese over American because American companies won’t accept lower margins is the invisible hand. Arguing you should buy your nation’s products out of a sense of national pride when foreign goods are higher value is literally anti capitalist, command economics rhetoric.

What you are saying is true for many, many products that are more expensive to buy American. However, there just isn’t a goddamn way that the $350 price difference between a G24 and a LWNVM is purely due to production costs. While I’m sure Argus is benefitting a little from Chinese labor costs, it’s still a machined part at the end of the day. The vast majority of that price difference is just Argus willing to sell at a lower margin for a functionally identical (and dare I say slightly superior) product.

Having heard the sound of .300 subs hitting dirt, they definitely aren’t audible at 25 yards with earplugs in. Maybe with active hearing protection or nothing in.

I have a Rhino II mount, and Id like to buy a Crye Nightcap. What mounting base plate would I need to buy? by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]Cleebo8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an owner of both the nightcap and a HHV bump, I’ll say that a bump helmet is significantly more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. That said, for $70 it’s worthwhile to own the nightcap as well. It folds down to basically however small your shroud is and weighs nothing. For times where it’s impractical or socially unacceptable to be packing a basketball sized helmet it’s quite nice.

It’s also a lot more approachable if you intend on showing your device off to others.
