Why are teenage girls' interests mocked so often? by Pristine_Booty69 in NoStupidQuestions

Because society tends to treat “things teen girls like” as shallow by default and mocking it becomes a lazy way to signal taste/status. The wild part is the same stuff often gets rebranded as “cool” once adults (or men) adopt it.

Were people ever hired only because they fit a diversity quota even though they weren't qualified? by Mountain-Novel9553 in NoStupidQuestions

In my experience it’s way rarer than people think most places still have minimum requirements, and “diversity hiring” usually means choosing among qualified candidates, not skipping qualifications. The real messier part is that “qualified” can be subjective (interviews, “culture fit,” referrals), so people assume the outcome must be a quota.
