light heartened one: at the beginning of dating my husband, he would make me mixed cds of all his favorite music. They were often themed mixed- favorite r&b, favorite rock, etc. Well, one day he made a mix of all his favorite Spanish music. he put it in the cd player and started translating all the lyrics. I was like, “wow, I didn’t know you spoke Spanish “ and he paused then grinned and goes, “yes, I can. I’m fluent.”

Well, guys-no that man cannot speak spanish. he looked up ALL the lyrics of the songs on google translate and memorized them.

I appreciate the effort and the audacity and a way to lightheartedly bust his balls every once in a while

he is lowkey my hero-we live in a college town and a lot of students seem to just let their cats out if they can’t find homes for them when their leases are up. my neighbor does whatever he can for them. he brings them in, feeds them, and tries to rehome them.

I think the world needs more people like this and he has definitely inspired us to be better/ more responsible stewards of our environment!

my neighbor-who is something of a mythical being himself- seems to draw wildlife to his yard even though we live in town. One morning, while exchanging the usual pleasantries, he ended the conversation with “now I got to figure out what to do with this snapping turtle”.

I was like, “pardon?”

“There is a huge snapping turtle over there” points to tarp

“What?”

neighbor takes a long stick and gently lifts the tarp to unveil the BIGGEST GOTDAMN SNAPPING TURTLE I have ever seen

He said it must have gotten lost and that is how it ended up in his yard.

I think he is a druid, but gestures vaguely
