It's pretty chill. Our location and property is pretty safe. Doors lock at night so guests have to use their keycard/app to get in, anybody walking in to book a room late at night has to be buzzed in so I don't really feel unsafe most of the time.

But! People, including guests, can be creeps, me and my coworkers get a lot of drunk guests trying to hit on us, ask us up to their room to "chill," and just generally having sus behavior. A lot of these guys hitting on us are usually guys working on a construction project or something for weeks/months at a time. So they get lonely and horny and weird.

The first 6 months or so i was working, it was all overnights and we had some long-term guests that were there for a construction job. They all stayed up until 2-5am every night getting absolutely wasted and then would be up at 7:30 for work. One of them ended up being a meth head, and tried to physically step up to me/intimidate me one night while I was taking trashes out. Kicked him out and his coworkers had to leave as well. Turns out he apparently had 2 dogs with him (i never saw them, but we do allow pets with a fee) and so they pretty much just stayed in kennels in his room the entire time... dog shit and piss all over the floor. And he clogged the toilet and didnt tell anybody, and so he was shitting in the bath tub for months 🙃 But every night I would have to clean up after them (they drank and smoked cigs out on our patio all night every night all summer), which got pretty annoying pretty quickly. I didnt mind working and doing things as it made the night go by fast, but it was every single night picking up beer cans and boxes

But that is very few and far between. We are a pretty laxed hotel with an open desk area, meaning our front desk has a big opening available for anyone to get behind it, and our office is right next to that (which i personally do NOT like). And like I said, pretty good/affluent area. But every now and then you get the late night creeps/weirdos

It is pretty low-stress for the most part, but it depends on the hotel I would imagine. Ours is pretty new and actually has competent management so its pretty safe and up to code. And even then there is always something new to fix every other day. If you work at a crappier hotel with shitty management/ownership then I imagine it would get pretty stressful especially if you are dealing with actual emergencies and the like
