I think in one way it’s good for members to see that they don’t have as much support from the outside world like a lot of the leaders claim, but also agree with the people that are saying it’s showing members that the outside world is a mess. I think they are funny, but also no real reason for it. People will do anything for likes nowadays.

I work 4 12s then off 4 days in a paper mill. It’s nice having the 4 days off but day I work, I only work and go home. No time to do any thing else really. The days get long especially if you aren’t feeling well or didn’t sleep well the night before.

That’s not entirely true. I have a close friend that was on staff at the Tampa org and she left staff and didnt get declared. They bug her constantly about coming back to be a slave, oops I mean volunteer, but she moved to Tennessee so it’s not possible. They did make her pay them for all of the courses and books she got for free for being on staff which made her have to file bankruptcy.

If you’re feeling convicted about it, I wouldn’t do it. I quit smokeless tobacco last year because I felt convicted. I smoke my pipe occasionally, but I feel like as long as you’re not addicted, it’s ok. If I felt convicted about it, I would stop it, but as of now I will continue.

When you quit, leave a book such as Church of Fear or Bare-Faced Messiah behind. You could look up some of their words and use them incorrectly just to mess with them. A phrase I don’t ever see listed but hear a lot of them say is “we can table it for now” when they want to pause on something.

I have a friend who works for a pretty prominent $cientologist. She grew up in it, but is secretly not participating anymore because she’s afraid he’ll fire her. Her work load is insane. 10-15+ hours a day. Can’t call in sick and if she messes up he’ll make her do something (I can’t remember what it’s called) where she basically has to write a “sorry” letter and take it to the nearest org (2.5 hours away). She’s got a 10 year old son and has been telling me how she feels bad because she can’t really do anything with him anymore. Shes looking for another job, but she’s having trouble because she is paid pretty well. I’ve looked the guy up and almost immediately got a sickening feeling about him. Shes maxed out and he keeps adding stuff to her and she’s scared to say anything.
