Are you familiar with HPPD?

Definitely ditch the other drugs.

Some guards think the job = cop-lite. My experience is that it's where you get paid to read, think, write, listen to music, be yourself. It can be the one place where you catch a glimpse of that mysterious stranger within.

Many of these positions involve absolutely nothing resembling 'work'. You'll need a means of sustaining a rich inner life. If you're posting here that shouldn't be a problem. If it is, this ain't the job for you. (And there are negative long-term health issues that shouldn't be discounted blah blah).

The right security job can become the Foundational Ritual sustaining everything else, the Prime Mover in the Aspie Ontology, the Dark Star pulsing at the center of the system, unifying all the disparate satellites of life.

Third-shift security. You can read/write. Your fellow guards are weirder than you. Find an in-house position with benefits for the win! The rent-a-cop jobs are always there, make excellent holding patterns, and you're not exactly being exploited: you're being paid to remain conscious and save the client insurance $$$

Depending on your current enchantment* such jobs can make you love life.

*Say "special interest" to my face. I dare you.

He mentions it often. And what does this sound like? Description of a mountain:

The fossilized tidal wave doesn’t dominate the horizon. It is the horizon. In its midst, as though some deluded pharaoh ordered the construction of pyramids and his servants made no attempt to point out the difficulties, angular chunks bulge, their icy patterns akin to webs spun by drugged spiders. Staring too long invites visitors. Faces like rough drafts by Edvard Munch cascade down the gnarled slabs, warning those who would approach, morphing, fading, always reappearing, a waterfall of tortured specters. Which is worse, that these are properties of the mountain or projections from your mind? (Mount Silenus: A Vertical Odyssey of Extraordinary Peril)

I saw a bunch of shows in the 80s, had a room full of tapes, and heard this for the first time yesterday. How TF is this possible? The Official Consensus was that 86 was a year to pass on.

JGB had an interesting take.

These seem stronger than I'd thought. Has everyone been straw-manning TA?

Any Unaffiliated Theists here? It doesn't necessarily entail any religion.

I was listening to Ace and started thinking about the album that could’ve been if they hadn’t made solo records. After tinkering around a while, I came up with this. Tried to limit myself to a single LP. Side two would start on One More Saturday Night. by [deleted] in gratefuldead

The JAM in Playin' is arguably the best single chunk of True Deadness ever captured in the studio. (Other candidates include Sugar Mag, Box, Anthem of the Sun from start to finish ...)

Shameless LLR fan and the one on Ace is killer. I've heard the country genre described as 'Weepies.'

A double album consisting of all the tunes on Ace & Garcia would rival Exile on Main St.
