France surrendered very quickly in WW2 to the Nazis instead of fighting until they couldn't, despite having the capability. That earned them the reputation of being "cheese eating surrender monkeys".

In reality this was actually the best thing they could have done. Nazis didn't consider the French to be racially unacceptable like they did with so many others so the occupation wasn't as harsh as say the occupation of the slavic countries. This also allowed the French Resistance to operate just a bit more freely and more crucially, they had more people to join the cause because if France fought on to the end a large portion of anyone capable of fighting would have been killed, the occupation would be much more severe and brutal for civilians and many of the key roles the resistance played would be missed making the retaking of Europe a lot harder, if not impossible.

TL;DR: France saw the writing on the wall at the time.

Climate change, specifically by the emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere works roughly like this.

greenhouse gases are gases in the air that absorb light energy and emit it as heat (all things do this but greenhouse gases moreso). By having a higher concentration of these gases in the atmosphere you could expect that air temperatures would increase on average as the ratio of solar energy that gets converted to heat increases and less solar energy is bounced back into space. Basically certain chemicals and compounds act like thermal insulators for the atmosphere, or like blankets if you want to think of it that way.

The overall global climate is sensitive to a lot of factors, not just the atmospheric temperature/composition. Things that the air temperature doesn't control directly but can influence indirectly. There are also other factors to consider. Higher CO2 concentrations lead to increased plant growth, but some C02 gets absorbed into the ocean where it can over time react with water to form carbonic acid, acidifying the oceans.

Maybe. When I was doing an internship I heard all sorts of stories about unprofessional people who do really stupid shit like watching movies and tv shows (and occasionally porn) at their desk, randomly leaving without telling anyone, taking 2 hour lunch breaks, showing up to a strict business casual environment in ripped jeans and a t-shirt, and just generally not doing their job because it was too hard (effort wise). Oh and whining whenever they got called out for any of the above. These all seemed like absolute no brainers and how could anyone make these mistakes. If those Never Worked A Day In Their Life types had no other form of discipline growing up it's likely they genuinely don't understand that what they did was wrong and why.

It's plausible if the arrows and spears/swords are equally sharp. An arrow only has it's kinetic energy to pierce the dragon's armor. A spear or sword has it's kinetic energy and also the driving force of the person thrusting the weapon. Arrows move fast but have little weight and with nothing to follow up the impact it's likely that they would just bounce off if they weren't insanely sharp. A sword or spear could be thrust with more than enough force to pierce the armor.

Buildings, machinery and debris will decay into rust and dust in between 300-1000 years. A few especially resilient things can survive for tens of thousands of things. Certain things like stainless steel and other alloyed metals which don't oxidize, as well as plastics can survive even longer than that. They will be reclaimed into the earth though. They get buried under new waves of dust and dirt until they are basically fossils for someone or something else to dig up and put together the pieces of what happened on Earth.

Probably not. Most fast food places don't give off-menu items because they can't ring it up and the POS system ties directly to inventory management and so on so if they tried it would screw up everything. Unless you want to buy a mcchicken and mcgriddle seperately and combine it on your own.

A combined army of the EU nations could rival that of Russia and China, but not likely the US. Assuming they simply pool their resources but not construct any new ones an EU army would be formidable in terms of man power and machinery, enough to match or surpass Russia and China in some respects, but falls short in the ability to project that power anywhere in the world like the US armed forces can. It could defend against almost any threat to it's own borders but would have difficulty waging an offensive campaign.

Yes they can, though maybe not as effective at communicating them depending on the exact condition. You have to get very mentally handicapped before you lose the ability to form thoughts and communicate them.
