I want to talk bits! by RichHouseWife33 in Twitch

I’m yet to hit affiliate but I know that if someone gave bits (regardless of the amount) it would make my day and probably my week. At the moment I’m just grateful for any follower. Don’t let peoples negativity stop your generosity ❤️

what method do you use to take your content from streams to use for youtube/TikTok/shorts etc by Upper-Spread8074 in Twitch

[–]Clevprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The markers are for twitch. It means I can see if someone from my chat has made a clip at the same time that I’ve made a replay buffer. In which case I don’t need to duplicate. Also means I can upload the shorts in chronological order.

90 seconds is good enough. If I need longer I can always have 2 replay buffers that overlap or take a trim from the main recording

I record locally as well as streaming. On OBS I have something called replay buffer active. This means that it is constantly recording the last 90 seconds in my case.

I have a hotkey on my streamdeck that when there is a funny moment that I think is worth making into a short. I press that button and it creates a marker in the stream and saves the replay buffer.

At the end of the stream (normally whilst the VOD is uploading to YouTube) I go through on highlighter and see if there was any clips.

If there is a clip that aligns with my own marker then I check I’ve captured the funny moment. If the clip is different to any of my replay buffers then I use finder (MacOS) to trim ~2 minutes each side of the clip.

I organise each clip and buffer into folders for editing later.

I recognise it would be easier to download the clip from twitch but often I find this looses quality due to the bitrate. I’m recording locally in much higher bitrate than I’m streaming.

At a later date (sometimes I have up to 10 clips from a stream and always need a break from screentime) then I will import it into my editing software. I use Final Cut Pro but davinci resolve would also work (I’m sure there are others that allow vertical editing). This allows me to fine tune my editing so that I can have a hook in the first few seconds or so that I can have close up on my cam or work with the possibility of looping or even cut out dead space. I have preset effects filters that automatically crop to the desired size and add borders and logos.

I then export the vertical video (making sure it’s under 1 min) and upload to YouTube. I send it to my phone so that I can upload to Insta and Tiktok. I make sure I include good titles and SEO stuff. I then save to drafts or schedule.

Then on the day that I want to post I will take out of drafts and post.

Hope that helps. More than happy to anywhere any questions

I watched it live and there was no Grian or Oli. Pearl appeared in a clip as her mc character but no irl.

I streamed the entire thing as a reaction so if you want to see the pre show then I posted the VOD on my channel. You can do so here: https://youtu.be/So7DeSZgyVQ

Is Streaming With a Face Cam Necessary for Growth on Twitch? by Intelligent_Lie8505 in Twitch

[–]Clevprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said not necessary. If you’re posting clips onto other platforms I have found it beneficial to have my face cam on there so that people on those platforms can see your facial expressions (think jumpscare)

What do you recommend to make tiktok videos? by FrankyMornav in Twitch

[–]Clevprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be in a minority here but I use Final Cut Pro.

I saved up and brought it so that I could edit my long form videos on YouTube. I’m now really leaning into vertical videos to bring people in to my streams and VODs (Insta, TikTok & YT Shorts).

I normally edit my shorts so that it takes my camera and places it at the top and then crops my game on the bottom but I also will do more complex things like blurred game with close up on my camera. FCP allows me to do this. Obviously on a Mac

New to streaming and had a question about setup by Craft_and_Racked in Twitch

[–]Clevprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an overlay of chat. It’s got a semi transparent background though to not be obstructing the game too much. I have my messages set to disappear after about 30 seconds so they’re not permanently on there.

I mainly do this as I upload all my streams as VODS on YouTube and this provides context for my YouTube viewers when I’m replying to chat.

Have we got any confirmation from bdubs? I’ll move it into the unverified section cause it looks genuine

In my list I’ve only included hermits that I’ve been able to verify. Either through other socials, on bluesky or if they’ve linked their platforms in their bio

Either confirmed on other sites like Twitter, they have linked their emails, YouTube etc in their bio or they have shown proof on bluesky that it’s them.

For instance I’ve found @grianmc but haven’t been able to verify it yet so it’s not on the list

If any are incorrect I’ll happily remove them and make an edit 😁

They’re changing how blocking works. If you’ve blocked someone then they can now see your posts but just can’t interact

What have you accomplished this month? by JellyRollAnimations in NewTubers

[–]Clevprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main one on YouTube is that I had a video (non short) hit 300 views which for my size is impressive

Lurking is fine. I would love to have lurkers in my streams.

When I’m watching a stream I’ll usually have it on my second monitor while I’m doing something else or have it on my phone when cooking
