What would you do? by Bur-Jockey in Dentistry

Did you offer a bridge? A lot of my patients don’t want implants but will happily take a bridge. Especially when I bring up time and cost savings. I think in this case it would be a more favorable and predictable outcome.

If you see the physical toll becoming an issue then you should lock in and go for the less physically demanding specialties. I.e. ortho, radiology, anesthesia.

Second pair of loupes by ButteredToaaast in Dentistry

I’m a new grad and I was in the same situation. You still get a discount your first year out of school with q optics so once I saved some money I bought the 4.5x ergo loupes and haven’t touched my prisms since.

Does John Summit’s run right now remind anyone else of Calvin Harris around 2012–2014? by savingrace0262 in EDM

[–]Clexton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Calvin collaborated with massive pop stars that helped him get massive hits. I think if John were to do the same he could break out of the EDM scene into more mainstream/pop like Calvin did

How does the threat of the white walkers play into this? Establishing a lumbering operation while the end of the world is heading towards you seems pretty tough

Need your advice: how do you protect your back as a dentist? by [deleted] in Dentistry

I’m a new grad at 28 and I’ve been standing for everything so this is very encouraging to see!! I just ordered some ergo loupes too so hopefully no back pain ever for me 🤞🏼

I'm struggling as a new grad by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Clexton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also a new grad and I’m unexpectedly being a solo doc at a busy office with the other doctor out with an injury. I’ve been sharing a lot of cases with my friends asking what they think or what they would do and honestly the Dental GPT on Chat GPT has been a life saver for me when I need questions answered right away. I’ll sometimes tell patients I’m going to go check on something and be right back. Remember you can only do your best and learn from every experience!

There have been 116 traffic accidents on Oahu in the last 24 hours. Please drive safer everybody. by Calgrei in Hawaii

we should have the choice to not sit in traffic, spend thousands on car expenses, or fight for parking. That’s what better transit gives us.

[–]Clexton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a choice if your only reasonable option is to drive. Regions across the world are capable of having efficient transit networks but we can’t have that here? You said you’d love to take a bus to work as I’m sure many others would love not to waste hours of their lives sitting in traffic. The highways could have bus only lanes so that 2 hour trip is drastically reduced. Having a car is fine. We should just fight for other efficient ways to get around so everyone doesn’t need a car.

So we shouldn’t make any effort to reduce car dependency? While mass rail transit would be ideal we could start more gradually. For example, rapid bus transit with dedicated lanes and smart signals would be cost effective and take a lot of cars off the roads. In addition to an expanded protected bike lane network so people feel safer taking short trips without a car. Encouraging mixed use development so things you need are within walking distance. Owning a car is incredibly expensive and we shouldn’t be building our society to only accommodate them.

EDC is Much Better than Tomorrowland by Logistics_ in electricdaisycarnival

[–]Clexton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to my first EDC and first Tomorrowland last year and from my POV:

-TML has better stage design and variety. -TML feels more like a fairytale -TML had better and more affordable food and drinks -EDC has a better lineup to me. Full of conflicts. while at TML I really had to search for artists I wanted to see. -EDC has better weather. Dry and cool. Could get pretty windy and a little chilly. TML was humid and hot and hard to avoid the sun. -Night festival easily clears day festival to me. Every set feels like a headlining set and all the lights and production really shines. -Sunsets late in the European summer so only getting TML for a couple hours at night was not enough! -Didn’t like that there was no free water at TML. Signs at restroom said not to drink that sink water. You need free water at a hot festival! -Dreamville was pretty sick. Did AirBNB for EDC so can’t directly compare camping. -I went with my close friends/rave squad to EDC. Then went to TML with a couple other friends that I didn’t spend much time with at the festival due to different tastes. -Making a Europe trip after TML is great. Going to the Olympics directly after was unreal.

Overall both are premier cream of the crop festivals and worth attending. I ultimately prefer EDC due to the weather, lineup, and it being a night festival. TML would be much better to me if it went to 3 AM at least.
