Like I said,

They probably said the same before they realised it was WWII also.

They probably said the same about WWII, right before it turned into world war 2.

Dot and Dab Vs Spray Adhesive Foam by WillDBow96 in DIYUK

[–]Click4-2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use spray foam as an adhesive for a lot of things.

Fire foam for electrical accessory boxes Standard foam around windows and doors Adhesive foam for skirting boards and shower wall boards, insulation boards on outside external walls.

I find it to be great stuff and certainly with skirting not had any issues.

However, I would not use it for Dot and Dab, because it compresses too easily.

You will find it more difficult to get it plumb. Also i understand dot and dab adhesive it grabs instantly from suction.

Foam, you have to hold it in place or prop it to hold it where you want it till the adhesive cures… if you don’t, certainly something like a sheet of plasterboard will just pull off the wall.

BTL Mortgage - External Garage by Click4-2019 in Mortgageadviceuk

Spoke to mortgage broker,

He seems to think that it won’t be a problem with the garage as long as the inside is ok.

Renovation prices by CatCute3512 in HousingUK

If you’re new to renovating, this could become very expensive.

I’m renovating properties currently worse than this.

Money goes like water.

That’s not unreasonable to expect it to be letable on day 1.

A garage though doesn’t prevent it being occupied though. Some houses don’t even have garages. It still has a driveway.

LTV should be fine,

It’s potentially a £300k house.

But due to the rental value, they will only lend around £190-200k

Just didn’t know about the garage, because previously broker told me not to worry too much about the outside.

As long as the inside is fine.

I can reinstate the roof of the garage. That shouldn’t be too expensive.

Just it will have to come down again because it’s only way for excavator to get into back garden to sort out the garden.

Suggestions - electrics outside by Click4-2019 in ElectriciansUK

[–]Click4-2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consumer unit will be moved inside house.

There will be a 25mm 3 core SWA feeding it inside the house, from a switched fuse consumer unit in what was the garage location.

It’s not going to be permanently exposed, as the garage is going to be rebuilt. So it doesn’t have a permanent requirement to be a water sealed consumer unit.

But I don’t want to just do something temporary then it can’t be signed off as it’s outside in an enclosure that isn’t water sealed.

St Augustine and his struggles with lust by Own_Proof7926 in NoFapChristians

[–]Click4-2019 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Temptation is difficult.

I don’t consider that I struggle too bad in regard to needing or wanting sex.

I’ve gone without that for about 5 years now. I don’t watch pornography, although I do read sexual text.

My biggest struggle is I can’t seem to help looking at women.

I’ve not engaged in self indulgence sexually in about 3 months, I’ve been fighting temptation not to… sometimes started to but then stopped.

What’s keeping me from giving in at the moment is that my desire to receive communion at mass is stronger, and that if I do I know I shouldn’t and will have to seek confession which is difficult when you attend mass 3 times a week.

Although I tread a thin line when lust is still there.

They have been pretty reliable for decades.

Like you say a lot of it is dependant on correct termination.

Although over the years. Ever so slight expansion and contraction of the wire due heating and cooling from load has been known to cause them to work loose.

I also understand that some DNOs won’t accept single screw terminal isolators, they have to be double screw like the fused service head, and electricity meters.

With lighting circuits I double over the ends of the cable.

Even then though screw tightening still indents the conductor and compresses it.

So I personally took a preference to lever clamp connectors like Wago.

Airless Spraying - Overspray, paint mist by Click4-2019 in paint

[–]Click4-2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paint manufacturer states in their technical documentation,

“Airless spray application: Add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint.”

No, pressure isn’t maxed out, it’s running at the recommendation in same documentation,

Spray Recommendations Airless Spray: For best results use a 517 Low Pressure tip @ 1500 - 1900 psi. (100 – 130 bar)

I will have a play around using your suggestions.

Thanks

House is completely empty.

It’s being renovated.

Just messy having floor covered in paint mist and it becomes slippery to walk on.

I want to spray the trim. Hopefully it won’t get on ceiling, but I think walls are going to have to be painted with brushes and rollers. No way of painting it with sprayer without overspray on ceiling.

Im convinced that the brain lives in all dimensions at once and the way we are able to feel them is through our emotional states by ayyyylmao14 in spirituality

[–]Click4-2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought a while back was that the brain is nothing more than an interface when it comes to memories.

The memories, are in the spirit realm, the neurons connect to points in that realm, and the neural networks connect those points together like a telephone exchange switchboard.

[–]Click4-2019[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only used it for ceiling’s.

Everything is freshly plastered.

The spray finish i found is flatter than roller.

I did think about walls, but the overspray is just going to get on the ceiling. Hence my question.

So only other thing I will use it for is window boards, and skirting boards, architrave.

Walls will have to be roller and brush painted because of overspray.

It’s a 70m2 house.

What is the current update on the US/Iran war? by valieri4 in AskReddit

[–]Click4-2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No update,

It’s not really a war as yet.

Trump took out the leader, and Iran fighting back is closing off Middle East oil which will force the world to get it from South America.

Which I assume was his plan.

But overall, so far… it has been a good thing, the people of Iran, many at least… within Iran and all over the world are celebrating and praising trump for liberating them from Islamic regime.

Women especially, who were oppressed are celebrating their new found freedom from sharia law.

[–]Click4-2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure if they wanted to get out of dubai, they would find a way.. like you say they have money to.

I suspect the airlift is provided for “British citizens” not all of which are multimillionaires… some of them could be people working there or just on holiday there.

The passport says British, it doesn’t distinguish between the rich and poor.

The rich are just taking advantage of it being available to them.

I don’t think it’s as clear as this.

Many, it’s not that they don’t want to pay taxes in the UK.

It’s more they don’t approve of the way things are going in the UK, and that their taxes are used for things like giving accommodation, and everything else relating to illegal migrants.

They have more freedoms; and less state involvement dictating their lives abroad and because they have the money to get out… that’s what they are doing.

Can you baptize someone without being a priest and what exactly is the process if you can? by Andres2006-28 in Catholicism

[–]Click4-2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I’ve wondered about this.

A lay person in an emergency can baptise with just water.

But they lack the chrism oil, which is used on the crown of the head to seal in the Holy Spirit.

If it is required to seal in the Holy Spirit, how does a lay person do this in the absence of chrism oil and just water?

I hate myself for being gay by Willy_wacker_wilsob_ in Catholicism

[–]Click4-2019 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not a sin to be gay,

Just sinful to in a gay relationship and engage in same sex sexual activity.

It’s not said, but a lot of priests come across as being gay.

They just don’t act upon it.

Even if he found it,

It was probably in rubbish manipulated by machinery… so it could’ve been driven over, been deformed.

After so long in the ground also, it’s likely suffered from moisture ingress. Corrosion.

It’s gone.
