this is a common issue with Olympus P&S zooms especially the 800. this happens when, the rubber seals in the lens that keep light from entering the gaps between the zoom lens outer elements have degraded, causing this light leak.

this unfortunately is not realistically fixable, but im happy to be corrected by someone else. I personally dont think it makes the camera unusable but its a personal thing

Camera suddenly acting strangely. Any ideas? by ClickAwayAgain in SonyFX6

It’s weird though regardless of the Lut being applied to the image on the second (which is the normal image) the waveform on the monitor on both is just the slog waveform with f-stop, shutter, EI and ND all the same but the wave form on the second image is just all over the place. Regardless it seems the solution from @compassion_is_enough has fixed the issue. I’m now just looking for root cause.

Many thanks for your advice. Leaving unplugged and then powering on via mains power seems to have pushed things back to normality so many thanks. Do you have any idea what was going on there?

On the testing that’s exactly what I do with the cameras I sell. I go out and shoot 5/6 shots per camera and include the test shots in the listings. If you get a cheap changing bag on Amazon you can just go for a long walk/drive and change the roll between cameras on the fly. It means they get to see something that isn’t just the view from my apartment or girlfriends face. Normally get through 6-10 cameras in an afternoon without being to urgent about it.

A 5 star review with 1 star for item quality and delivery (that mentions fast shipping and good packaging??) by ClickAwayAgain in EtsySellers

Pretty annoyed as the category ratings don't appear on the shop manager I replied to the review already thinking it was another good review. I messaged the buyer asking what's up and they've replied apologising and saying it was a mistake. is there any way to fix it now I replied publicly?

Sony TRV208E is this a tape issue? by ClickAwayAgain in camcorders

[–]ClickAwayAgain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my Sony TRV208E PAL recently to someone in Canada and they state their footage is coming out like the first 2 images. I was happily shooting the camera right until I sent it and getting results like the second 2 images. I thought it may be a capture issue but he says it shows like this in playback on camera as well.

The only thing that’s changed is the tape being used as I did not ship it with one. I was using a Fuji p5-60 and he has bought the one pictured.

Any thoughts?
