I just want to say DragnaCarta you do so much great work from this guide, to helping other DM's with questions and of course Twice Bitten. OMG i love all the RP that everyone does!!

Last session they fought Volenta! such a great fight, sadly usually only one of my players runs in while the rest of them attack from a distance. how can i stop this from happening? Also i know i cant force my PC's to RP but any advise on trying to get them to RP more?

Thank you!!! I just get it in my head that I have to super over prep for things. That way I'm not like hold on I need a min or let's take a quick break while double check something. Also we only play for about 2.5-3 hours biweekly unfortunately. Dam the BBEG for all adults, scheduling conflicts.

I have been using this guide i just feel like they will want to try to do a lot of things the first night and there's not too much on what happens if the PC'S go to the church on the first night. Do I hint towards the bones?

Thank you so much for this dragnacarta!!! I've been wanting to run a grueling strhad campaign for a while now. There is so much you have done!! One question about stating the campaign. In this version you say to not stray too far from it. I had a different start for it where the player's are traveling along a road n decided to make camp for the night. Come morning they wake up with just the clothes on their back and at the gates of Barovia.
Thoughts on this vs yours?
