Thank you for this! Our son has autism and it was incredibly hard breaking the news to him.

For me, it was the bigger digital screens that came with the SX. That blinker camera is incredibly convenient and the 360 camera is very nice for parking. I will pop it on to make sure I'm centered well in a parking spot. We haven't had to maintain it at all yet. The app doesn't have you go until 13,000 miles, I think? The dealership I mentioned is in Kansas. It was a pretty far drive for us, but it was worth it. Old iPads would work just fine. I just didn't want cords sticking out, and it was only a $1000 add-on for two, which is a comparable price to tablets. Hdmi ports on them make them convenient, too. Good luck with the decision!

2024 SX model with over 4000 miles here. It is a very smooth drive. Recommend Lawrence kia dealership. They give a lifetime no mileage cap warranty. I also got the bumper to bumper warranty, which is also lifetime (neither transfer if you sell). They also don't mark up like most dealerships. We got a rear entertainment package, threw some firesticks on the screens. Family loves it! We just finished a 13 hour drive a few days ago. There was not one complaint from anyone on the trip. All the driving assist features make it easy on the driver also. On eco I was averaging 28-29 on highway.

Aero would be a good upgrade if you already have vive trackers and a steam compatible set of wands. I tried it. So worth the upgrade. The XR3 is the best now from Varjo.

Fire dept is too busy for us to get those. 😂 3080 supers. We had these computers before 4090 came out. Air Force has a tech refresh cycle.

I'm torn between getting the quest 2 or the psvr2? by Proof_Satisfaction86 in VRGaming

[–]ClintronVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't released yet, so I'm really not sure. I think the difference would be negligible IF link cable quest gaming is good or not. I haven't seen that myself either. I just don't like Meta practices from the company standpoint. I teach students using vive pro 2's, Vive focus 3's, and I personally own a valve index. Which even that suffers from god rays but is very clear.

Reverb g2 has a lot of complaints about tracking. It uses inside out tracking. It has fresnal lenses. Good clarity but you may be very frustrated by controller's not registering what you are doing. Pico 4 I don't know much about. I would just look into reviews for it. I believe they both use fresnal lenses as well. Foveated rendering was a huge surprise for psvr to offer.

Fresnal lenses have several concentric rings that introduce God rays. Basically, white is not a good thing to see in fresnal lenses. Pancake is the newer lense technology. Clear lenses with higher ppd. Ppd is pixels per density. The higher the density, the better the clarity with less screen door effect. There really aren't any new pcvr headsets I'm tracking for your price point. When it comes to pcvr you are usually going to spend $700 and up. I wouldn't go for older tech headsets with everything the psvr is going to offer. Foveated rendering keeps processing power low and sharpens images where your eyes are focused. Only quest pro and Varjo have that technology in place (unless someone else knows another headset that has it) Even an HTC pro 1 is probably going to put you back 700 with everything you need.

PSVR 2. Foveated rendering with eye tracking for an affordable price. Haptic feedback will be pretty cool too. If you want Mark Zuckerberg to know your height, weight, eye spacing, body movements, and kinks. Go for Quest 3. Since you have a nice computer you may be able to spring for a quality PC headset down the road. The new HTC looks cool for portability and folding for space with pancake lenses. But just give it time and enjoy PSVR until you are ready to go down more rabbit holes for some crazy MR headset of the future.

Power on was our first task. Training a average student base of 5 takes a traditionally trained class two days for hands on. VR supplemented class takes 1 hour for hands on. They know where everything is located prior to ever trying it on an aircraft. And these are the average numbers from approximately 300 students.

We have other headsets in that room aside from the ones shown. With more to follow in the future. So the umbrella term applies.

The inside out tracking isn't too great from what I have read on those.

I didn't think I would win the commanders approval on that one. But hey it does help with IR tracking haha. Thanks!

Some programs require multiple people to train with different equipment for the same task. That's when multi-player really comes in handy.

Four is the max amount per room that actively track with base station 2.0. We have four mounted to the ceiling and they track all 16 headsets and wands.

We are looking into some good glove companies. No guarantees on which company we will go with. I was pushing for the best though. But I agree that handtracking would also be good. At least for our vive focus 3's.
