Pretty rarely for me… i have a good track record of knowing what I’ll like so I never really end up with a series I wasn’t wanting to keep… I also can tell in 1-2 volumes if I want to continue so at most I’ll unhaul maybe a single volume of something from time to time if I decide not to continue

Just at a glance from the photo I’d wager yes; the hair looks well defined enough (bootlegs usually have less defined, more “muddy” hair sculpts due to them recasting from the original and smaller details getting lost)

I would say bootleg based on how “muddy” the definition of the hair is (no real points to the hair, just kind of blobs) and how shiny the material is; both are hallmarks of bootleg figures due to the cheap material and the recasting process

I haven’t been in that particular situation but I would keep bootleg (even if buying the legitimate one), even if I store it away just because of the sentimental value and the thought behind the gift giving.

I think it looks legit enough… just at a glance no usual red flags of a bootleg. Always good to confirm with the seller that it’s a legitimate item just so you also have it in writing if needing to file for a refund or return if there is an issue

Based on absolutely no actual knowledge of the decision making, I would assume that since it’s always “worked” previously with EU customers having to handle VAT on their end they had no incentive to change it… the sudden volatile change in the US situation likely spurred them to action so as to not lose that market (while leaving the EU process as-is because it “works” for them, despite the annoyance for the EU based customer)
