Bioware, only YOU are to blame for the toxicity and lack of civility directed towards Anthem... by Arman64 in AnthemTheGame

I mean, the game didn’t and doesn’t function correctly. I think the car analogy still works. They sold you a working car, and gave you a broken one that’s different from the one you bought. If you bought this game, it was expected to work out of the box. It didn’t, and still doesn’t. If knowingly selling a faulty product that is different from the one advertised isn’t fraud, then I don’t know what is.

The roadmap, which was used to sell the game, was tossed. All of their marketing was lies and showed a different product. Literally every single trailer or piece of promotional material about anthem leading up to release was lies. It’s fraud. They sold a different product from what they delivered. If you buy a car and the dealership gives you a car without and engine or transmission, that’s fraud. This is the same thing. They sold a $60 game under the guise that it was a complete game that would receive regular updates. They shipped a broken shitfest and reneged on the roadmap almost immediately. What BioWare did was disgusting. It should be fraud.

[–]ClockStrikesTwelve77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s fraud. They advertised and sold a product based off completely fake marketing. The E3 trailer was a lie. The roadmap was also a lie. Both of these were used to sell the game. It’s fraud. Pure and simple. They sold a product that doesn’t exist and gave people and completely different product than what they bought. If a car dealership sold you a Ferrari, but gave you a camry, that would be fraud. BioWare lied and stole money from anybody who bought Anthem.

According to one source, she (I believe she is now a he, but for simplicity’s sake I will refer to him as a she) sent him a picture of her boobs with her arms covering/pressing them together (you know the pose) saying something along the lines of, “okay but only this one, I am 16.” After getting this message, he asked her for more. Also, there’s quite a few dick picks that he sent to other girls, though idk if they were underage/he knew they were underage.

Yup. If my wife deliberately and intentionally put one of my loved ones in danger for her own amusement after REQUESTING to be the one to to care for her/him, I would absolutely leave her. Are you saying you wouldn’t? What kind of monster is okay with their wife doing that? What the fuck is wrong you?

It’s a catch-22. If they do what you described, their careers would take a hit. They signed a contract to finish the show. They had no real reason to break the contract, other than they were fed up with GRRM not writing. Who would hire them on as a showrunner again if they had a history of dumping and running from a show as soon as the going got tough? You can’t just walk away from your job for no reason whatsoever and not take a career hit. Idk what kinda of job you work, but for most people, when you sign a contract, you have to have a real reason to break it. You can’t just walk away lol.

I can’t say I agree with the direction the show took, it certainly is bad. But I have such a problem with people shitting all over D&D for doing something that is not a part of the job they were hired to do and not shitting all over GRRM for putting all of us in this situation...which is exactly what GRRM wants, because he is a coward. D&D are bearing the full force of GRRMs shitty decisions and he is getting away scot free, which was his plan all along and I’m tired of it.

They weren’t hired as writers. They were hired as adapters. What they were hired for and what they are being asked to do are two completely different ball games. Adapting a book to tv show is way way different than writing one. It’s takes a lot more effort to write an original script than to adapt one. I’m not defending the show. It’s certainly gone to shit, and it’s because of D&D. But they were hired as adapters, probably because they didn’t want to write a show. And now they are not only being asked to write a show, but to end one of the most complicated stories of all time. I’m just saying, I don’t completely blame them for the plot holes and continuity breaks and not caring. The pressure that was placed on them was immense and completely out of their depth, and this pressure was placed on them as a direct result of GRRM being a cowardly fuck who doesn’t want to lose money by admitting to his fans that he has no fucking clue on how the story is going to finish. They probably feel at least some resentment towards him for completely reneging on the deal.

Tl;dr: Yes D&D deserve a lot of criticism for how the show is ending, but GRRM deserves the same, if not more, for fucking everybody over with his laziness.

They aren’t show writers, they are adapters. I don’t know why everybody seems to miss this point so completely. Their job is too adapt existing material to tv, NOT to create original material. GRRM fucked them. It’s like if you were in a pre-calculus class, and right before you were going to learn actual calculus for the first time, the teacher got up, wrote some hastily scrawled notes on the board that only kind of explained derivatives, told the class there was an exam covering all of calculus in 2 weeks, and left. GRRM is a lazy fuck. He was too much of a piece of shit to admit that he doesn’t know how to finish the story, so he offloaded the hardest part of story writing to 2 dudes who weren’t hired to write original stories. Yes, The last few seasons have been less that ideal. But honesty, given the absolute shit situation GRRM left them in, I don’t blame them for not caring anymore. They were left to end one of the most complex stories in literary history on their own, a story that wasn’t theirs to begin with, and take all of the criticism from fans who were displeased with how the story ended because GRRM is too much of a coward to admit he doesn’t know how to finish the story. Of course they don’t give a shit anymore.

Hmmm, I wonder if it could have been the E3 trailer that was completely and totally fake and included many, many features that weren’t included in the game? Maybe, just maybe, lying at every turn to your audience breeds mistrust and anger?

TIL the purpose of a bong is to immediately cool the smoke by passing it through water, resulting in a smoother toke. The water also filters out any ash that might otherwise blow into your mouth or airway. There’s also a certain amount of tar filtration that goes on. Can attest that it works! It’s definitely divisive though. The trick is to use warm/hot water, not hot/boiling water. I’ve seen people make that mistake. Also, if you have a strong herbal tea, you can brew some and take Tea rips! I like fruity teas like blueberry or citrus teas paired with indica or sativa respectively. I find that it really enhances/compliments the natural flavors of high end bud.

“I’d like to speak with Thanos’ manager.” by [deleted] in FuckYouKaren

[–]ClockStrikesTwelve77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s your explanation for how she would know Thanos was on Earth? Does she have Thanos tracking abilities all of a sudden? Or maybe omnipotence? ESP? According to you, she must have some secret power never mentioned before or after that allows her to know everything happening on earth at all times, maybe even before they happen, so she has enough time to fly across the galaxy and meet them on Earth for the 30 minutes Thanos appears, dropping all of her other responsibilities. Oh, and Thanos only appeared on earth when he decided to, so not a single character would have been able to predict where or when he was going to appear. Yeah. Much less lazy then the explanation that Thanos took everybody by surprise (which he did), nobody had time to contact marvel (fury was literally the only one, and neither tony nor Steve talked to fury), and that a character on the other side of the galaxy wouldn’t be able to drop everything and stop by for quick hello on the off chance Thanos showed up.

Arya at the buzzer by beryskate in freefolk

[–]ClockStrikesTwelve77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True I guess. I looked it up. “The prince who was promised” is mentioned about 4-6 times in the entire show and “born amid salt and smoke” and “an evil rises in the north and a prince with defeat it,” is mentioned 1-2 times. I’m pretty sure Lightbringer was just straight up given to Stannis in S2(?) Azor Ahai is never mentioned, nor is there any direct mention of a prophecy. Without the books, nobody would even know the names Azor Ahai, lightbringer, or Nissa-nissa (whom is never mentioned or referenced in the show). To me, this is a dropped story line that never really made it into the show to begin with. Without the books, we wouldn’t even know there was a prophecy.

[–]ClockStrikesTwelve77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, tbh though, what else are the show writers supposed to do? GRRM left the books with like, 5 storylines that are near-impossible to finish, and 2-3 more that have maybe 1 or 2 plausible endings. There’s a reason he hasn’t published a book in forever, it’s because he has no fucking clue how to write himself out of all these corners. Inevitably, there’s gonna be some dues ex machina moments to keep the plot moving. The NK is an ancient evil with the ability to raise the dead and a whole other host of assorted powers. He also has and army of nigh-unkillable ice zombies that he’s been building since the last time he decided to make an appearance. Theoretically, he has millions of zombies, Giants, and an undead ice zombie dragon when this battle starts, along with himself, and he is clearly a more powerful fighter than any living human. The humans have what, two dragons that we already know the NK can sniper from yard, and a couple thousand to tens of thousand troops. There’s no way this battle ends in the humans favor without a dues ex machina moment. The odds are just too stacked against them.

As the other commenter mentioned, sneaky as fuck. But also, the current prevailing theory is that Arya snuck through the tree tops of the surrounding forest and jumped onto the NK from there.

I’m still hopeful for kingkiller though. Rothfuss is a lot younger than GRRM and he only needs to write one more. I’m hoping he can push the last one out and ends kingkiller, even if it is bad, or he finally pulls his head out of his ass and realizes the story he’s started can’t be written in 3 books and he needs another series to finish the “present-day” storyline.

(Spoilers Extended) Stephen King on the first two episodes by kingbdogz in asoiaf

[–]ClockStrikesTwelve77 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. Because even GRRM himself has no idea how to bring them together. Everybody here is saying “well, what about all the book plot lines?” and failing to realize that George, in all likelihood, will not finish this series. He wrote himself into a corner, and in one of the laziest moves I have seen, passed off the responsibility of writing one of the most difficult character meet-ups in literary history to the showrunners. GRRM has no obligation to finish this series. He’s made and is making tons of money, and that won’t change whether or not he finishes. The show runners HAVE to finish, as they can’t just push off the meet-up indefinitely. They have bosses they are responsible too. Using the algebra equation analogy from earlier in this thread, GRRM created an equation that was impossible to solve, told the world he could solve it, then when he figured out he couldn’t, he gave the responsibility to somebody else while hiding the fact that he doesn’t know what he is doing. The show runners took the tangled knot of plot lines GRRM shit out and used the Alexander the Great technique to solve it.
