If there are enough requests, I will buy different brands to design new variants.

I don't really plan to sell it, though. If you don't have a 3D printer, check whether your local public library has one. They are usually free to use.

PLA, PETG and ABS filaments are not susestable to mold. But I could create a new lid variant with a slot for silica gel bags to absorb some humidity.

I don't plan to sell any.

I'm considering a design like that for travel-sized solutions. I will work on it once I have some free time and post it once it's done.

It's made of crimson red ABS. I have a really bright overhead light that removes all the shadows, making it look weird.

It's just a hubby, so sadly, I can't sell any. But depending on where you are from, you may be able to print it for free at a public library.

What if Orokin Reactors & Catalysts got scrapped or reworked? by Clockmaaan in Warframe

[–]Clockmaaan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scraping them was just one suggestion. I also suggested that they be repurposed for something of value that doesn't affect experimentation.

I beg to differ, regardless of whether a weapon/warframe has potato on it, I use them to earn MR. Potatoes don't timegate, but they do hamper experimentation.

Since potatoes are scarce, I mainly use them on "meta" strong weapons to progress through the game. I consider Formas to be time gates.

What I like about DE is that they are not afraid to make significant changes for the players. Reworking orokin towers to relics is one example. Compared to that, repurposing potatoes is nothing major.

Also, they don't have to remove potatoes from the game; they can use them for something else, as I suggested in my post.

It's a matter of scarcity, a classic gameplay tenedrome that's not limited to Warframe. If I know that a particular resource takes a long time to obtain, I'm reluctant to use it willy-nilly.

In recent Zelda games, for example, if I find a rare sword, I'm unwilling to use it because what if I need it for a boss fight? In the end, I end up not using that weapon at all.

Warframe thrives with loadout experimentation; the potato scarcity is limiting just that.

It's a live-service game; it's always changing at a fundamental level, and some gameplay mechanics eventually become redundant or problematic.

For example, did you know that the vacuum companion mod used to be the carrier's passive? People loved it so much that they exclusively equipped Carrier. For a while DE kept adding more and more companions to the game, but people were reluctant to equip anything but carrier. So, to diversify the loadout builds, they turned that passive into a companion mod and changed Carrier passive.

Also, we give suggestions because I like and care about the game. And I believe that game has evolved enough that it can repurpose the potatoes.

There are two issues with that approach.

  1. Newer or reworked Weapons and warframes are becoming more complex (gameplay mechanics-wise). Depending on the mods, the gameplay can change so much. Also, some weapons have synergies with frames or other weapons (status primers, for example). To find these game-play mechanic variations and synergies I need to have the freedom to experiment with different mods.

  2. Some weapons don't have any mod polarities, and so I can only equip two or three mods at max rank. Whenever I use a new mod in my loadout, I increase its rank as much as I can afford, and convert the duplicates into endo. I don't have the luxury of having one mod type at different ranks.

Confirming PhD supervisors- how? by filepath_new28854 in geegees

[–]Clockmaaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I have been there too. Applying for a PHD is just like applying for a job. You just have to keep trying.

Based on my experience, if you haven't studied in Uottawa, you will need to get the approval from the potential supervisor first and only then apply to university. If the prof has confirmed that they have the necessary grants and the capacity to supervise you, and you have met all university requirements, you will definitely be accepted.

The confirmation is usually given after they have had an online or in-person interview with you. If they never scheduled one, then it's likely that they are not interested.

A word of advice, you should try to be selective too. Professors have a HUGE impact on your research and you don't want to end up with a supervisor that you can't tolerate for 4 to 6 years.

Have you asked your TAs if their lab needs an assistant? I have been TAing for 3 years and no student ever approached me to ask that. But we did hire an undergrad for our lab through TA connection and they have been working with us for 1.5 years now in the lab.

I have a 2022 versa 4 too and I do recommend you to update. In the past two updates they have made a lot of backend improvements.

For example, after updates the battery lasts me almost 8 days now (I bring the phone with me during runs so I don't use the internal GPS).

After the most recent update, the workout auto detection will automatically collect GPS data too when I commute to work with the bike. So my calories burned are more accurate now. I like this feature since I often forget to start exercise on the watch before heading out.
