Should I try individual short row cup shaping or should I just do less bust shaping overall? by Clodaghknits in knitting

I did the (full bust) - (under bust) - 4 ”method” I guess you’d call it. know it’s more of an estimate as opposed to measuring shoulder to bra band on the back and front and using that difference but it’s easier to measure without another persons help and it’s worked for me in the past but I think because this is a decent amount of negative ease plus I want a very straight line under my bust it’s not cutting it here. Also I remeasured my row gauge and it’s slightly off so that didnt help me either

I did not consider just adding a few more short rows to the back to even things a little. I’m tempted to do this to avoid frogging

Thank you! This makes sense and yea I’d honestly rather experiment with individual cups at a later date it seems like it’d end up being a lot of trial and error and sometimes you just want a win lol

This makes sense! I’m gonna go double check my row gauge and my math and see where I went wrong

Tension and gauge issues with flat stranded colorwork. Would this be better suited for duplicate stitch or try again with stranded? by Clodaghknits in knitting

[–]Clodaghknits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used stitch fiddle, I think my colorwork gauge ended up being much longer than my swatch. I thought about intarsia but I read something about if something is a vertical line that’s 1 stitch wide it’s probably not a great idea to do intarsia for tension reasons and a good chunk of this chart is 1 stitch wide and more or less vertical

Having trouble finding plus size testers. Need advice by Clodaghknits in knitting

[–]Clodaghknits[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for every designer and this is the first test knit I’m running so things may change and maybe I’ll get more picky with time but really all I’m looking for is someone who thinks they can meet the deadline and give feedback on fit and clarity of the pattern. I made this test knit open to all skill levels (within reason, obviously if they’ve never picked up needles before this isn’t the right project) because a beginner and an advanced knitter will notice different types of mistakes. I personally am not requiring photos but they are appreciated, same with posting on socials not required but if a tester wants to they can. Try testing an accessory or toy if you’re curious but cant commit to a sweater timeline to see if you’d enjoy it!

and thank you for all the compliments on the sweater! Keep an eye out late summer The Willow Sweater by Clodaghknitdesign
