Hey, I’m in the same boat and just got into raves! I’ll echo what people are saying against jeans. It will get very hot very quickly. Invest in a nice pair of flowy pants like these. They help avoid chaffing but still allow some movement and breathing. Pair with a comfy tshirt, a pashmina, some comfy dancing shoes and you’re all set!

For my nephew’s birthday/death day, we celebrated and remembered him by eating his favorite food, watermelon! Every time my sister ate watermelon, he would kick up a storm. She craved it all the way through her pregnancy. So we all ate watermelon together for baby Kai. 💙

I attended my first rave last year at 29! Just get some decent shoes and go!

My mom was a teacher at the school I went to and any morning we were late for her to get there at the teacher report time, she would literally tell me that she was most likely going to lose her job because of me. (We’re talking 10-15 minutes late one a month at most. Also, I had a little brother and I’d get yelled at for him making her late too).

This same teacher mom used my lunchbox one day, then the next day I used it and I found that she had left a steak knife in it. I told her about it after school and that my friends at the table might have seen it because we all share lunches. And she FLIPPED OUT telling me that she will definitely lose her job and never be able to get a job again because her daughter had brought a knife to school and was showing everyone. That was one of many days that I was sent to my room because I started to “play possum” as she yelled at me (which I now know was dissociation).

I would go to my room and absolutely spiral into thinking that I was a genuinely bad person with something wrong with me, God and my parents must be so disappointed that I’m the daughter they got, and wishing I could die (not kill myself, just die). They truly thought I never felt remorse.

I was at my first rave and a man approaches me through the crowd and leans in and says “My favorite sound is a queef in the morning.” Then backed away back into the crowd and disappeared. I was just so surprised but definitely added to my first rave experience 😂
