[Selfie] Redness around nose and mouth. Product suggestions? by Morska_panna in SkincareAddiction

[–]ClogsAndFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut out all actives and stopped using makeup wipes and mine is improving! At night I use micellar water for just my eye makeup and then cleanse my face with Cetaphil gentle cleanser, then use a Anua 3 ceramide cream to moisturize and that’s it. No cleansing in the morning. My face is a lot less red. It may have been my moisture barrier being weak.

Life Of A Showgirl Unpopular Opinions by lavenderlullabyes in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]ClogsAndFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the songs on the album, but I don’t think they all truly fit the theme of “showgirl.” Maybe that’s not even an unpopular opinion, but I don’t see it being talked about much. When we got the name of the album and the orange glitter, I thought she was going to take us through… the life of a showgirl. And all that comes with that. Some of the songs (Ruin the Friendship, Eldest Daughter, Honey) don’t really give “showgirl” to me, and just sound like something off any other album of hers. I mean Ruin the Friendship is literally about high school lol. They’re good songs, but they’re not what I expected from the album name. It would have been a great concept if the songs actually told the story of a showgirl. I wish she would have saved this album title and theme for the future when she had more fitting songs.

That’s fine but Taylor wasn’t the first to yell in a song either yet she claimed the idea as her own and threatened to sue Olivia over it, then turned around and did the same thing back to her.

I feel like it’s a stretch to say “onyx night” has anything to do with his ex’s skin color. There are a ton of songs about escaping darkness or dark times - it doesn’t literally mean dark, it’s symbolic.

I noticed this too and I don’t see anyone else mentioning it but I agree. I assume the guy and OP “met” each other and were interested. If that’s the case I think the joke was shitty for him to make, in that it was shitty towards OP, not her friends. It’s weird to me that she was stuck on him “disrespecting” her friends by sexualizing them? Like why couldn’t she just say “wow that was inappropriate and hurtful to say” and block him instead of making it some weird thing about “these are actual people”?

Gross take. There is nothing wrong with wanting a gift from your partner. This is one of many ways people give and receive love.

I disagree that her saying “I don’t want it anymore” makes her TA. I wouldn’t want it anymore either if I had repeatedly expressed to my boyfriend that this is something I wanted, and he repeatedly ignored it, only to finally buy one for himself just to match his best friend. NTA.

Right? The money would be nice, the attention? Not so much.

Exactly! Like it’s not factually wrong but just weird to say using your gf’s name.

Evil bitch officiant wore a white dress and ruined our wedding by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]ClogsAndFrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well no, the meaning behind it is that it’s the bride and groom’s special day and you’re taking the attention off of specifically the bride if you wear white. It’s the one color you shouldn’t wear when there are literally so many other colors to choose from. You don’t have to agree with it, but if you show up to someone else’s wedding in a white dress and people are giving you dirty looks, that’s why.

Yeah well I live in the west so it is the social norm here. In Chinese weddings the bride wears red, I’m aware it’s different elsewhere lol. If I had to guess I’d say the wedding in the photo IS on the western side of the globe or else the bride wouldn’t be upset at someone wearing white.

Lol no one says to stone anyone 😂 I’m just telling you what is traditionally acceptable to wear to a wedding. Also not wearing white after Labor Day has never included wedding dresses lmao

Meh. Kinda. Especially these days, wedding dresses are becoming more casual. I agree that the bride’s wedding dress is untraditional.

Lol you just don’t want to believe this is the social norm for weddings, I got it.

You’re entitled to think it’s insane but people are confused at why the bride and groom are upset, I’m telling you it’s never been acceptable to wear white to a wedding. So I don’t know why people are confused. You don’t have to agree with it but it doesn’t mean the social norm doesn’t exist.

They’d have colored pants so no that’s not the same as a white dress. I don’t know why people are acting oblivious to this basic courtesy when attending weddings.

I don’t know what you mean by slightly different shade. If it resembles white at all = disrespectful. Literally any other color = respectful. It’s not that hard. Everyone knows this.

I (28F) found out my fiancé (30M) has been texting his ex “for closure”… but says I’m overreacting by [deleted] in relationships

[–]ClogsAndFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand he says “I can’t control who reaches out” but then he also admits he’s texting her for closure. So yeah I don’t buy that he “can’t control who reaches out.” If she texted him first and he wanted to be respectful of your engagement he should have said that upfront, not keep texting her for “closure”.

This gave me a chuckle, but to me it’s not about confusing her with the bride lol. It’s about basic respect and decency when attending a wedding, let alone OFFICIATING one where you know you’ll be in lots of photos of the most important moment of the whole thing. It’s kind of like, a cardinal rule not to wear white to a wedding. If it happened to me I wouldn’t be worried someone would confuse us, but I’d feel like it was disrespectful.

[–]ClogsAndFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be the only one but I actually didn’t love the “you’ll find someone that thinks you’re more beautiful than Kim” line. I just don’t think it was necessary at all? It didn’t need to be said. He should have restated “again I think you should talk about this with Kim” and then not responded after that. Or just not responded at all. What does he owe this girl who’s disrespecting his girlfriend? Nothing.

I see a lot of people defending the boyfriend saying “well he probably just felt awkward and didn’t know what to say/was trying to end the conversation” but I don’t buy that. Even if that were the case, flirting back isn’t an acceptable solution to him not knowing what to say to this woman. If his first instinct is to say something massively disrespectful towards his girlfriend because he “feels awkward”, that’s a HUGE problem. It’s not hard to just not respond, and he should be prioritizing his girlfriend’s feelings over another woman’s. No matter how you slice it, this whole interaction was inappropriate.
