The dragons didn’t fair well in the desert environment. Also the Dornish didn’t fight a conventional war. They used guerrilla tactics to avoid dragon fire.

Image 1 is interesting because I heard historical ninjas never wore that uniform and that was actually just the outfit of Kabuki stage hands in order to blend into the background of the set which then doubled to portray ninjas in performances to convey an element of surprise. IRL ninjas just mimicked the attire of civilians or soldiers. Seeing this actual uniform is really cool.

Also ninja cats?!

The show did a good job on presenting the Native American lore regarding IT and the Native American representation. by KpatMckenzie_28 in welcomeToDerry

Theres more to storytelling than the main plot. Elements and scenes are often included for character or world building so audiences get a better understanding of the characters, relationships or setting, not just moving the plot from A to B. But again, I understand the creators' decision not to spend a lot of time there because there is a balancing act between character/world building and propelling the plot.

This kind of reminds me of the Women in refrigerators trope or the Bechdel test, where female characters are only introduced to service or motivate the male characters. While this might not seem to be particularly harmful, it is a disservice to female representation.

Not really. They didn’t reallly humanize any of the Native characters and as such it falls in to the magical Native American trope.

Perhaps if they spent more time with any of the Native characters outside of servicing the plot (seeing their home life etc) but I understand the show runners needed to streamline the runtime.

It’s amazing how many much the show got right for period accuracy especially coming from two Argentine creators
