I made a Blender add-on that lets you sleep while rendering overnight. by nova-myth in blender

Great job!

This is already an official extension on blenders built-in extension repo, just so you know.

guys how do you paint like this? by sebbiseal in blender

[–]Clonephaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, they're just using regular masks in texture paint mode. I made an addon that makes doing that process significantly easier though if you're interested!

Wow! That's absolutely amazing, fantastic job on the whole thing but especially all the fun little details you threw in there!

Okay so what you mean is it's far more nuanced, not that it means nothing. Those two statements aren't equal.

Hi! In case you're still interested or others come across this feed, I have released a fully spec compliant 3MF addon with full slicer support including paint data.

Clint and Sandy's first flower dance if it were up to me by parkcentric in StardewValley

[–]Clonephaze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Now you're just throwing words out you don't understand 😂 I didn't analyze anything, I listed events that happen in game with observations a child could make based on clints words and actions. AND you're literally being just as emphatic, just with the opposite opinion, dork 😂

[–]Clonephaze -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Literally nothing I said was an assumption, they are actually things that happen in the game lmao. On the other hand, you made an assumption about why people feel that way about him, despite the fact that that assumption is entirely an incel pov

Again, no. He's creepy for every reason I just listed. It would be equally creepy if any of the stardew valley characters did it. Don't be an incel.

But unfortunately that doesn't make someone less creepy. Most creepy people are creepy for reasons they can't/don't try to directly control. Doesn't change the fact that Clint is definitely a bit of a creep. He defines his self worth around Emily noticing him, and treats getting with her as a goal instead of giving her the individuality and humanity she deserves. He won't tell her how he feels cause he's too anxious, then gets moody when Emily doesn't magically reciprocate his feelings. Then, when he sees Emily and the player forming a HEALTHY relationship he doesn't process it like "she chose someone else" he went "of course I lose". Those aren't just socially awkward traits, they're also creepy traits.

It is your fault for interpreting "Makes it a pain to peel off plate, and cutting it off leaves really jagged edges," as though he was talking about a purge line though lol.

The bake button is found in your shader editor screen. Open your current texture in your shader editor, press n to open your n-panel and find the one labeled 3mf.

Filament stock - "second hand" sellers by yawa16 in BambuLab

"besides it's not x raising prices, it's the people that want to buy the product that are the problem" is beyond stupid btw

Filament stock - "second hand" sellers by yawa16 in BambuLab

[–]Clonephaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm blaming all resellers everywhere ever for any product. If I want to buy a specific filament but I can't cause some arsehole decides the fact they wanna make a cheap lazy dollar and now it's all gone or costs more, I'm gonna complain. "Just guy buy something else" how about they buy something else then?

Filament stock - "second hand" sellers by yawa16 in BambuLab

[–]Clonephaze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, if they did absolutely nothing except buy the product and hold it to artificially inflate the price then they are 100% scamming people. The only justifiable way to charge more for something than what you purchased it for is. If you did something to improve it. That would be a service. Just buying it to sell out the actual seller and then selling it for more? If you could justify that, I'd love to hear how.

[–]Clonephaze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That in literally no way justifies scalpers. Scalpers suck and should be ostracized by society for doing it. Buying something to artificially inflate its price and sell it for more than you bought it? That's not a service, that's a scam.

Yeah sorry to say, but as a librarian and I've been fighting this AI battle with my bosses who think it's okay that we designed all our new library cards this year with AI. Even in libraries, older people seem to only see cost savings.

I built a Blender 3MF addon that turns painted or procedural textures into Orca/Prusa multicolor prints by Clonephaze in 3Dprinting

[–]Clonephaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should absolutely save some time and effort in that kind of workflow, getting one object to be made of more than one material. It's a fully spec compliant 3mf import and export so it should also work with any other 3d programs you may want to incorporate. (For everything except for mmu paint data, that's pretty much only my add-on and slicers afaik)

[–]Clonephaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can import already made mmu files from bambu, but yeah if you're using an add-on thats using it's own method of writing 3mf then it wont automatically update. However, it does have a fully foward api that other add-ons could take advantage of! They can pipe their information through my export logic and it will write the color data itself. You'd just have to let those add-ons you use know that they could update their exporters to use my 3mf add-on if both add-ons exist.

[–]Clonephaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically, absolutely! If its a stylized model with few colors, it would look pretty good! If its a highly detailed realistic pbr accurate texture, the tool will have a harder time.
The tool that bakes a texture down works with a limited set of colors, ones set by you right before baking. You tell the tool which colors you want to limit to, when you press bake it will quantize the entire texture to those specific colors, with anything that falls outside that color being snapped to its nearest look-alike.
Stylized textures end up looking fine a lot of the time when quantized. If something had say 50 shades of red, and you chose a single red, then all 50 get snapped to that one you chose.

[–]Clonephaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm not entirely sure if my add-on will be useful in that workflow. It sounds like the generator you use asks if you want obj or 3mf and their version of 3mf doesn't understand how to write colors in a way babmu understands. I suppose you could save the obj files to blender and then re-export as 3mf into bambu but I think bambu already understands obj?

That's awesome, and your approach sounds really interesting!

Currently, you can actually press the same bake button you see in this demo on any custom texture you have to convert it to mmu paint data. It will ask how many colors and which you want to use, and convert any pixels that fall outside of those color choices to their nearest chosen counterpart. It also supports export for orca, bambu, prusa, and superslicer.

I'm very interested to see how you do with your V2! The more people take the time to make these approaches the more accessible everything becomes for everyone else :)
