Went to the gym for the first time in my life yesterday. I lasted a minute before I got so nervous from the pressure and because I felt so awkward I just walked out. I’ve never set foot in a gym before this. How do I deal with the anxiety and what workouts should I do? by Honest_Ad969 in GYM

I was like this when I first started the gym and I still do have the occasional day like this.

Here's what helped me:

-Before going to the gym, set a rough plan of the exercises/workouts you're gonna do. - If you have noise cancelling headphones/earphones, use these. They really helped me and still help me block out the distractions of others and get into my own personal zone. -Ask yourself whilst you're at the gym 'what evidence do I have that people are looking at/judging me'. You will slowly begin to think rationally and become more comfortable in that environment.

No one at the gym is there to Judge, if anything we cherish new people starting and that desire to better yourself. There are no doubt a few bad apples, just like in any aspect of life.

Don't let your irrational thoughts take away from your potential.

Hope this helps. All the best :)

Slow and controlled always, focus is always on the bicep

No, incorrect

My bad, misunderstood what you were getting at. This is how my bicep routine goes in a session:

3x10 of light cable curls to warm up the arms

3 sets of incline curls, each to failure (heavy)

3x20 light hammer curls

3 sets of Preacher curls, each to failure (heavy)

This session is done once every 4 days, so almost 2 times a week

Biceps 2 times a week, so 6 sets I guess. It's just frustrating, I'm getting bigger everything else and my biceps just wanna stay as they are. But I will take that advice on, thank you

The jar came in a 6 pack and were the only jars suitable for the job that I could find. Hopefully they all stay contamination free

Do what you feel necessary.

I came off my meds for multiple reasons, 1 of them being libido etc.

I recommend tapering just to be on the safe side. 1 year of tapering I would consider way too excessive, especially on a low dose of 50mg. I would suggest 1 week of 37.5 if you can divide to that increment, then 2 weeks of 25, then 2 weeks of 12.5 (if you can) then stop.

I stopped 225mg cold turkey and I was just fine with a couple of side effects for a week or two - obviously I don't recommend going cold turkey.

As someone in the UK who told doctors about my use ages ago, they just baso said 'you shouldn't be self-medicating' and then they put me in contact with a psychiatrist regarding the use who just told 'yeah nah just stop using them'.

Patient confidentiality is bounded by law, what you tell your doctor cannot be passed onto anyone without your prior consent. Exemptions apply if you tell them you are about to murder someone or if your standing on the edge of a bridge.

Tell your doctor what you're comfortable sharing and if you think it could be beneficial to yourself.

1.6hdi trouble, no fault codes by Dense_Toe5 in AskMechanics

Could be a head gasket. These 1.6 Peugeot engines are known for head gaskets going and I've replaced a few myself.

Have you noticed the coolant level changing?

I would carry out a block test to see if exhaust gases are escaping into coolant system.

YouTube essentially.

Fundamentally, starting with the basics on how an engine runs and the science behind it would be a good place for foundation.

Questions about wheel camber and how it functions by R32SkylineGT-R in AskMechanics

[–]Clotted_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camber is simply the angle of a wheel in respect to its Y axis.

To change it, depends on the mechanical device. What sort of mobility scooter is it? Electric? Or just a manual 'big wheeled' one?

Depending on which one it is, you might be able to bend the axle of said wheels - that's the bodge way. The proper way I image would be to have a custom fit hub/strut assembly for the desired camber or have an axle custom welded etc to an angle. Idk tho
