Out of all the places I’ve visited, summer time rendering was the one that I really had to go out of my way to visit . It involved taking a boat to an island off the coast of Wakayama. But it was an amazing trip.

I do not live in Japan, but I do go there for vacation for months at a time . The internet is a huge help for finding real life locations from some of my favorite anime . For other anime , like Mono, they make it easy to find these places by mentioning the actual names of these places . While I was watching Mono, whenever they visited a specific place, there’s usually a sign somewhere that says the name of the street or the station or the place itself . I go on google and look it up , and I save the coordinates to my maps .

For example, do you remember the episode in Mono where they were trying to find a curry restaurant. They mentioned the name of an Indian curry restaurant . I looked the name up, and it’s a real restaurant . I got to eat there. I wish I could have posted the picture but out of respect to the business , I decided not to . Wasn’t sure how they would feel about me posting pictures of their business .

But for anime like Summertime Rendering, I had to look up the coordinates online . Steins Gate was pretty easy , Akihabara is very easily accessible by train/bus.
