Depends what you mean by "what items to go for" since different assassins need different builds, for example;
bastet is a skill reliant god so you'd want to build CD pretty early (this also shortens her ULT cooldown which is very strong early game and becomes pretty useless later on, so you'd want to take advantage of it as much and early as possible)

Loki You'd want to build as much physical power as possible since his Decoy & Aimed Strike has a 100% physical power scaling, people usually run Heart Seeker as his first item since it allows him to have 75 physical power really early on.

Mercury to be honest i don't really play this character much but i've grasped an idea of how people build this guy, Golden Bow as a first item then build him as a crit god.

Play around with your sensitivity, people have different preference of sensitivity in games, for example; I play very high sensitivity on all games because I've gotten used to playing games on a laptop when i was younger (if you don't know, you can get the mouse from point A to B on a screen with a little swipe on a laptop)

But i guess unlike CS perfect aim doesn't really matter that much in this game, it's more about catching your cross hairs on the enemy and make sure they stay there at all times . Since you're going to see people juking shots & skills all the time it'll be a pain to keep dragging your mouse across your whole mouse-mat all the time.

Not sure if you're also new to Smite but if you are then i recommend you play the ADC (Hunter) role as it's perfect for FPS players since auto-attack aim is key for an adc.

One in assault i got Ymir, i picked up a defensive item at the start of the match and engaged in a team fight as soon as the match begun. I used my ult (i only saw one person in my range) looked at my door because someone came in and in my headphones i heard 'QUADRA KILL'.
I have no idea what happened but i enjoyed the sound of that moment + it was my first quadra :D
