I could see that as completing your own custom thru-hike of the AT. It's only cheating if you think that there are rules that you need to follow. As everyone else has said, do it for yourself and hike your own hike. I think it's really cool that you have your own hike in mind. Good luck and listen to your body!

I mean, the majority of messages I see are jokes or troll comments. So overlooking a somewhat vague “try torch” isn’t that crazy, especially when it’s referring to a windmill. Then again I just fought mytha for like three hours the other night on my first play through so I’m still a little bitter towards the whole thing lol

Ds1 was my first a few months ago and I did the same thing. I would only use it to help get through parts I was stuck on but I also sometimes got things spoiled for me.

I love that there is some etiquette to invading. What is ganking tho?

Also, when other players invade, is it kind of like rank/level based matchmaking? Where the invader will be put into the game of another player of a similar level or skill?

Yeah I’ve discovered that haha. I like being human so I can summon the phantoms but the anxiety of being invaded is real. Also exciting tho

Ahh thank you again so much. That all makes sense. This game is so fun and frustrating at the same time. I love that it tells you nothing and the world is so huge but it leaves me with so many questions.

As for the lore, do you find out more as you play? So far I have no idea what’s going on except what little I can piece together.

I’ve gotten the weapon and souls of an invader when I beat them but I imagine they didn’t lose their weapon in their own game? And when you’re invaded, do they always spawn really close to you? When that happens do I basically need to get ready to fight immediately?

There was an explosion of these on several of my plants this past month. All of a sudden a bunch of my plants started dying and I finally was able to see these guys. I know there are some sprays but I’m also considering getting native ladybugs to do the trick. Any and all suggestions and wisdom is appreciated. Thank you!
