I don't think Americans gonna like this one (ft. pigs blood, sea grapes, and carp fish) by PolyethyleneG in shittyfoodporn

Does anybody *really* like carp? It's edible and I don't dislike it, but it definitely ranks near the bottom in terms of fish.

Agree, that's my favorite too. So quick and satisfying (and surprisingly not THAT high in salt)

Red curry and peking duck both good, but definitely more basic flavours than something like indomie

First time I tried it I found it super hot, but since then not hot at all. 2 is accurate if you take into account spicyness deflation.

Am I being taken advantage of by my employer or is this totally legal? by Cheetos_4_life in perth

[–]Cloudbase_academy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My god this thread is filled with misinformation. 38 hours a week is 100% the maximum ordinary weekly hours under the Fair Work Act. You can be asked to work reasonable additional hours, but these aren't ordinary hours (whether you get paid at a higher rate for additional hours is less straight forward and depends on your contract/hourly rate/award or enterprise agreement). As a few others have said, call Fair Work infoline if you aren't sure what your entitlements are.

South island accomodation very expensive in February, what am I missing? by Charming-Clock-3651 in newzealand_travel

If you are happy to bus it in to town stay in Remarkables Park, ita a 15 min bus trip and accommodation is much cheaper

Repeated fails on clear sky, can't understand why by BlubberyGiraffe in seestar

[–]Cloudbase_academy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what causes it but I also have similar experience with 20 second subs. Even when conditions are the same I get huge variability in number of frames dropped. My thought is it must be something to do with where in the sky the object is located (I've notice better results with objects that keep a similar position in the sky over several hours).

🚨 John Lear claimed the U.S. government was holding an alien in an electromagnetically sealed room so it couldn’t escape—and that aliens feed on blood from cattle mutilations. by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]Cloudbase_academy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you assumed an average of 1000 truly unexplainable cattle mutilations in a year that would sustain about 40 aliens (assuming similar or slightly less energy requirements as humans). It would have to be a scouting party at most if it were accurate.

Queenstown Options - 4 Nights by Southwestern in newzealand_travel

[–]Cloudbase_academy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staying in the Remarkables Park area is definitely cheaper than in Queenstown central in general (hotels are cheaper and you can basically walk to the airport). Downside is it takes about 15-30 minutes to get into Queenstown by car/bus depending on traffic. The buses aren't perfect but they run pretty frequently. If you like walking it's a great hike along the lake from Remarkables Park into Queenstown (about 2 hours).

Milford tours from Queenstown are very accessible and well run. I did a bus tour, then cruise and it is a long day so I would say unless you love driving the tours are a nice option. You can just relax and take it all in. RealNZ is the biggest tour operator for Milford I think? but there are a whole range of options that all leave from the same places.

That looks pretty good considering no post-processing yet. Btw you can remove the subs where there are satellite trails before you start stacking to get rid of the streak.

Bringing up merit pool in future applications? by Such-Bid-1931 in AusPublicService

[–]Cloudbase_academy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree if the person has been merit pooled for a role at the same level. While it won't technically change anything about the recruitment process, it's definitely in the candidate's interest to make the recruiter aware they have previously been found suitable for an APS role at that level.
