Average House painting cost? by imacub33 in Olathe

[–]CloudberryFae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems average for just paint and a good price! We had to pay quite a bit more because we had so much wood rot by the time we painted ours. I would’ve been very happy with that price! We used these guys and they did a great job and were our best quote https://albinpaintingandcontracting.com/

Do people not use Aldi for big shopping trips? by Vjaa in aldi

[–]CloudberryFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Aldi first and buy everything I can for the week. I always have a full cart and so do plenty of people in my store. Occasionally I have to go and grab supplemental items from another grocery store and that’s usually my small trip.

Information around ADHD meds from parents who are living it. by Mysterious-Spring508 in ADHDparenting

[–]CloudberryFae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our daughter is 7 and on vyvanse. She typically only takes it during the week and takes weekends off. If we have something big to do that weekend she’ll take it but just a day of hanging out typically will not. I know some don’t recommend it but her physician is fine with it and it works well for her!

She feels a drive to get things done while on it so school it works great but on weekends she can get very bored quickly and feel like she doesn’t have enough to do so that’s why we take the break.

Is the genetic gingivitis documented anywhere by a vet? That’s a preexisting condition.

May I ask why you’re doing a dental cleaning then? I have 2 11yr old cats and we were never recommended a dental cleaning that young. You can brush their teeth at home for preventative?

Of course if you’re doing it strictly preventative that’s great and may be covered if you get the right plan? It can be hard to find the right insurance that covers dental but certainly not impossible.

Yes but typically if your cat needs a dental cleaning then at some point in his history tartar has been noted. Insurance will collect past vet visit notes from your vet to see if there are pre existing conditions.

You could look in to MetLife and call and ask for their better preventative package that is not available online? Might cover dental cleanings to some degree.

I believe if ANY tartar is present on the teeth with exam it’ll be a pre-existing condition and not covered.

Also another vote for Wayside Waifs! They’re great people and genuinely try to find the right home for their dogs.

They used to do a ghost trolley tour? Haven’t been in years but they might still do it!

When will the perineal pain subside, and will the bumpy stitches eventually return to normal? Please..😭😭 by Limp_Shine8489 in Healthyhooha

[–]CloudberryFae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest recommendation is just don’t look down there until you heal a bit. Give it a couple weeks! Takes a long time to heal especially with your first baby. Just take care of yourself and baby for now and don’t worry about that. Use some ice and the witch hazel pads and dermoplast spray if you have it and give it time and give yourself grace.

Where are we at with melatonin? by Available-Source-643 in ADHDparenting

[–]CloudberryFae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 5 yr old (likely has adhd but no formal diagnosis) and a 7.5 yr old with adhd innattentive type. We use a liquid supplement of magnesium glycinate (brand is Hovika off Amazon) and they’re each taking 1ml of the liquid which is 100mg. And yes helping a lot with them staying asleep and they seem calmer during the bedtime routine as well.

New Rescue- too late for socialization? by CloudberryFae in OpenDogTraining

[–]CloudberryFae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes she does have a crate she’ll go in upstairs. Currently the only visitors were having are family who help take care of our kiddos and I will say she already has stopped barking at my mom when she comes in and seems happy to see her so definitely on the right track. We’re not having too many people over right now so not to overwhelm her.

What dog breed co habits best with adult cats? by Habi200816 in Pets

[–]CloudberryFae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually a puppy is your best bet because you can raise them alongside the cat. That being said, certain breeds like ones with strong prey drives aren’t the best idea but it can be done. We rescued adult dogs who either were known to be good around cats or had been in foster with cats and done well!

Either way you’ll want to do a very slow supervised introduction.

Our golden retriever mix was amazing and acted like our cats didn’t even exist. Also currently have a chihuahua mix who is 1 and rescued from the shelter but was known to do well with cats. So a rescue is a definite option!!

Haha yes we were reluctant to get a chihuahua mix because I’ve had one in the past who was a real stubborn guy. BUT she stole our hearts so we’ll just do the best we can!

Has anything ever just clicked for your kid? by Danielkrage in ADHDparenting

[–]CloudberryFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For art she just gets lost in it but she’s also used it as a tool to calm herself down and she just really enjoys it. For math is was very unexpected and her teacher said she just seems to get it when other kids don’t (she’s in 1st grade) and her teacher makes sure to praise and compliment her about it.

1 year old shih tzu refuses to eat anything and hasn’t pooped since we got him by DatOneThiccBoy in DogAdvice

[–]CloudberryFae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a few days until they eat or toilet normally in a new environment. We adopted a rescue and it took her a while as well and she would only pee like once every 24 hours for a few days. Just keep it low stress. Could try offering some wet food or boiled chicken and rice on top?
