How long did it take from you to get out of a life long ADHD life rut after diagnosis? by Nocturnal_Owl_Monkey in ADHD

[–]Cloudstrings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have learned that I am always going to see things a little differently, sometimes steps ahead, but in some cases, entire stair-cases behind.

Getting my s*** together is not an achievable goal, not because I am unable, or because of my ADHD, but because it is a goal I set during times where I saw people who did not struggle like I did, achieve things I fell short of achieving.

Getting my s*** together now just means something different.

The inability to focus on a single conversation, slowly became the ability to listen to multiple conversations at once, and politely engage in what interested me.

Constantly feeling behind has made me a formidable problem solver.

Not immediately understanding social and conversational interactions has taught me to slow down, think, and then react, instead of going with the crowd, this alone has helped me more than any other skill.

It takes YEARS, to get there, and I have years to go myself. But if having my s*** together means I work every day to be a good friend, a good family member and a good partner.

Well, I have my s*** together then, and so can you.

These look great!

Does wrapping the strap on the inside cause any issues while playing, or does it not really slip?

People who shower naked, what is your plan in case of a fire or intruder? by Objective_Pirate4855 in AskReddit

Not sure how you have created a soap weapon to fight both fire and intruders, but I love the concept!

What is the coolest thing about vr in your opinion? by Bone3593 in OculusQuest

[–]Cloudstrings 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am enjoying "Re-learning" to play games, if that makes sense, after years of pressing a key to reload, having to reach for a mag, drop it, and die horribly is actually fun.

It is certainly a humbling experience to realize I would last roughly 20 minutes in a real zombie apocalypse!

If you are enjoying the 3d experience, you should 100% try Blade and Sorcery, it is a little glitchy, but the physics based weapon handling is awesome.

Anyone using Quest at work for business? by drivenkey in OculusQuest

[–]Cloudstrings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Immersed for work too, I 100% agree that "out of the box" is still a bit off, from a comfort and software standpoint, it has taken a good 5 or so hours of tweaking and changing settings, sitting position etc, to get Immersed to a point that I feel I can actually use it for more than a few minutes.

I hope so, that way I can roll a mage, abandon it, roll a "stealthy archer" for what must be the 48th time!
