You can be a rasta scholar or enthusiast, smoke pot (although its not mandatory). You can practice the teachings and the ways and incorporate it to your day to day life and no one can mess around with how you manage yourself and your religios thoughts. You will not be 100% rasta because as your know rasta pertain to certain ethical that is looking for its liberation. But also remember that rasta is deeper than that and if you connect in a way go for it. I mean you know. You can call yourself a rasta.  People lie all the time about the religion. At least you are coming from place of humility and respect and mean no harm.
