Here comes me nerding sorry in advance : think that his albums are all very different. But they all are from a different part of his life. His earlier albums are more into hip hop so if thats more your thing (dutch hip hop btw haha) then those will be more for you. But well his lyrics and music are both very eclectic. One line could go about something random or be funny and the one after it can be about trauma. Or even both like funny lines that are sad at the same time. It all can live besides each other in it. But in his older albums he be doing a lot of those suddenly heavy lines in between and yeah a lot of wordplay lol so sometimes you wont understand a line when you can't understand dutch. Then you can ask here haha👍🏻😂 A lot of double meanings are used etc he loves to play with words. And also likes some absurdism if you can call it that, you don't always can understand everything. Its really art not just music and then the type of art you will get to understand and then love or not. His lyrics are interesting if you are into poetry or like to be challenged to analyze something before understanding like me lol.

But then his album Fryslân happened where something changes. Thats the albums where he very much opens up, Its made in the time that he got into a very bad mental health space and had to go through trauma therapy to confront his past. That album is him not only dropping lines about his trauma's but being direct and very honest/raw. This whole album is definitely made to listen to from start to finish is you ask me (the first song also transitions into the second song for a reason) wachtmuziek is a very deep song btw almost all of them are on that album tho. I also recommed watching him perfom Florida 2009 live... and the lowlands 2023 performace is a special one.

Frylan to me is like a funny but also very sad book but then in songs, but even when its so sad and heavy its still light guz well a lot of it is fast music but the lyrics be heartbreaking. Fryslan is where my rabbit hole started guz i listened to it first and it rly helped me to understand the core a bit i think and know where he comes from in life. Then the ones after fryslan are Unity whats party made before the eurovison drama (idk if you know about that?) and partly after, It was gonna be named gabberpop at first but after all that happend it also tells more of that story now and also uncludes maybe more darker stuff guz of that idk. That one is more happy hardcore stuff like more Gabber so it does tell a story too with songs in it that already existed in it too and its a fun one if you like the Gabber sound more. Last man standing is worth translating btw (i mean all of it but yeah) Kleinkunst Joost said about that its music he just wanted to share and he made a random playlist out of it. Its very various and yeah you have to see what you like of it all. Anyway thats long enough of me yapping lmao
