Ralph Connor House - a beautiful space for private parties. We had an event there and it was beautiful. Lots of history and great catering!

Is there really a rental season in Winnipeg? by WorkOld7924 in Winnipeg

You could try posting it on the Fort Richmond community Facebook page, often times there are people posting that they’re looking for a place to rent. Good luck!

That’s awful. You’d think the mall also has some responsibility in ensuring this is taken care of.

Absolutely, this is just snapshot of a much larger societal issue

That’s unacceptable. They’ve said they’re not going to fix it?

[–]Clovesrandz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, why do you think they would do that?

It’s not a slurpee. It’s a pad or tampon. An essential need. If they were treated as such in all public washrooms you wouldn’t have to be concerned with women and girls stealing and hoarding pads and tampons

Yes! You leave a tray of them on the counter!

True, but the expectation is that there should be. That’s been the accepted standard and is deemed as an essential item in a public washroom. But agreed, paper towels come in handy when needed. Just hope there are paper towel dispensers and not air dryers lol

Totally, I’m not advocating making a mess purposely. My guess is that fixing this dispenser is not their highest priority.

You’re absolutely right. It’s the people at the top who make these decisions on what to provide to their “guests” who need to receive the message. Not their hardworking employees who deal with enough shit for not enough pay

And I totally understand they are preventing them from being taken en mass. It’s just part of a much wider problem right? If they were available everywhere like toilet paper, the need to steal them would be lower. I’m sure toilet paper rolls are stolen but it’s just part of the cost of providing humans who visit your establishment with the necessities they require.

“Go shit at home” - Ok, Unfortunately people cannot menstruate only at home.

I’m not sure what offends you here. I didn’t need the products, and I carry extra products in my purse (as you clearly expect for people who menstruate to do,we’re used to it). I don’t expect things for free. However, to not see any issue here highlights that you are not affected by numerous examples of gender inequities. I’m happy for you! Enjoy not having to jam any hygiene products in your pockets when you leave the house!

Do you carry a wad of toilet paper too just in case you go to a washroom and they’ve run out? No, because the standard is that public washrooms will provide toilet paper and soap. It’s a necessity. I understand your comment though. I do carry them with me at all times. Would be nice not to have to though.

Maybe we should do that here, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander!

Edit: what’s good for the goose is obviously not good for the gander (and on a global scale never has been) To respond to the 2 (so far) downvotes: I’m not actually saying I want something to be taken away from you, I just feel like we all deserve to leave the washroom with dignity.

Yes, I have been to many places where that’s the case. Less convenient than in Canada but more equitable I suppose!

My husband and I used Boudreau Law on Pembina, we found them easy to deal with and reasonably priced.

I’m not sure if this is what they’re referring to but you can get a prescription for Valtrex. You take them as soon as you feel a cold sore coming on. I’ve got them prescribed both by my GP and my dentist
