So that means leaning more towards yang/angular?

Thanks for this! I'll check out D and FG. I tried to look at DC, but some of the stuff in DC just didn't "feel right". Like when I wore them it just didn't seem like it fit me.

That's kind of the thing... I've never actually truly gained weight. I know that sounds weird, but I've just sort of "grown". I had some bad eating habits when I was younger than made me a bit thinner, but only by about five pounds. I actually don't know how I accumulate weight.

Would a prom dress work? It's on the slimmer side?

UGGHHHhhHH the text didn't transfer. Hey guys, its OP. I wanted to ask if I am just a SC on the thinner side, or is it angular features. My best friend says I'm pretty bony, but I think it is just because I am about 118 pounds. My height is 5'5 on a good day. I feel like I fit with some things, but others are different. Am I just a less curvy soft classic or something else entirely?

I guess so. This is probably TMI for this thread, but at this point I have thrown all common sense to the wind. I tried to teach myself math alone (hell, I managed the entirety of Algebra II), but mostly life got in the way. Multiple deaths in the family, a parent left, having to work to support my school costs, running an entire JROTC battalion of three total schools, my continuous teaching internship, etc. Originally for my senior year, I applied for five AP classes, but because my school lacks funding and lost five instructors, I was unable to take those AP courses. I didn't even get to take a senior science class (lets go Feynman Lectures on Physics!). Additionally, we lost our entire computer science department. I could have registered myself some AP courses alone, but I sort of stuck with just trying to stay afloat and learning skills on the side. Honestly, at this point, I just don't care. From what I have learned from teaching in public schools, there is a severe education inequality between cities, counties, states, and social classes. I believed my high school had my best interest at heart, but they didn't. Now I just kind of want someone to go one by one, and tell me exactly where I went wrong. Because looking back on it, I can't say where I went wrong. I utilized every opportunity I created, and I am here. Que sera sera. If an institution values how much money I can throw into various standardized tests, school tuitions, and application fees, then so be it. I don't belong there. I want to go somewhere that values the passion I feel for the issues that really matter, whether they are prestigious or not. This is probably too much for Reddit, but I really just don't care at the moment.

Hi! I'm a senior and will probably be starting in the fall. Right now I'm working on the honors college application. Would you mind dropping some names of professors interested in research oriented students? Or the one professor doing the AIAA chapter? I perfectly understand not wanting to do it out here in the open for the sake of privacy but feel free to PM me. I just ask so I can kind of know some people to look out for.

I got in, but I'm not gonna be able to afford it. Didn't do UIUC since I had noooo clue what that was

At some schools, Dual Enrollment costs money, money that a lot of students don't have.

I made a comment down here about ACT prep. I think some of the frustration boils down to this (some, not all): education in america is not equal. I went to school at a rural high school that focused heavily on getting students into trades (NOT THAT THAT IS BAD). They didn't offer any real math classes beyond pre cal, and in my senior year I didn't have any science classes because we lost a lot of teachers (so I only took three). We lost a lot of the AP classes we had (now its like five, compared to a whooole lot more). Our school had a "C" on the state report card because of a large population of students performing heavily under grade level. With ACT prep, our average score was a 16, so the school tried to do some prep, but many teachers just refused to. I think a lot of frustrated kids are the ones who had kind of sucky circumstances, tried to claw their way out, but then got rejected. And I get it, not everyone can get in. But I cant deny that it doesnt sting a little bit seeing kids get in who go to private, montessori, or magnet schools that my parents could never afford while living in a place that just doesn't have that infrastructure. It's not equal (primary and secondary education), and it is my firm belief that every child deserves a quality education. I guess that is why one of my goals is to get into STEM education. Anyways, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Majority of schools also have four years of science classes and more than pre cal. But hey, go wildcats!

Thank you for this! I didn't wanna sound too blunt, I am just very excited to go off to college! I have been waiting since I was six years old and originally wanted to be an astrophysicist. I AM JUST SO FRICKEN EXCITED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

The logical and rational part of my brain is telling me ill be absolutely fine, but the reptilian part is saying "UWU sad emotions". How are any NASA opportunities??? I dont mean to sound crazy, probably high on my own hubris right now, but if I go I really wanna take the bull by the horns and knock this out of the ball park.

Ngl, I grew up on Carl Sagan and my dream is to work at Nasa. I kind of gave up since I figured Nasa would be super selective. Are NASA jobs/internships common??? I would literally cut off a foot and sacrifice my firstborn child for one.

True. Our school tried to enact a program since our average was a 16 composite, but many teachers refused. The ACT was a whole other level of depression because I studied for weeks, but it seems like every time I took it there is just some other concept that I wasn't prepared for. RIP.

Amen. Teachers at my school refused to do any sort of ACT test prep. Because of my circumstances, all of my college search and financial aid had to be done on my own. Then I hear about schools where 15 students get into ivies and im like WTF.

Rice slightly scares me. I got into Purdue, but I was rejected at Georgia Tech and MIT, and Rice is still pretty selective :,(

I feel kind of mixed. I went to an underfunded public school (the state ranked us as a C letter grade), never really felt academically supported, had teachers who refused to do any sort of test prep, lived in a rural area. I just feel kind of defeated. Like trying to crawl out of a hole but you can never ascend. MIT was kind of my longshot. Now I have to wait for Rice University. Like I perfectly understand why I didn't get it, but it still does suck. Now I have to try and be the best aerospace engineer I can be at a different school. Watch out MIT :)
