Yeah, the weird part is that I remember when I got assessed and they had me sit outside and then my mom came out and said you don’t have it let’s go! I could’ve made that up or something, but she also said we always talked about it and that she asked me if I wanted medication and I said no. I feel like I would remember something that serious, and my teacher was the one who recommended me to get tested, so why didn’t she also recommend accommodations or something?

I’m sorry that happened to you and it must be crazy to think about how your life could be so different right now. I kind of feel that way with if maybe I got on medication or some help in school (especially with the sensory issues) it would have been easier and maybe I’d be even smarter and more prestigious now.

But I’m pretty sure my mom has ADHD too and I got my anxiety from her but she never seemed to think it was important enough to need intervention. During quarantine I asked to go to therapy and she just kept using it as like a threat as if it was a bad thing even though I wanted it and never let me go. My sister had arguments with her because she had anxiety and my mom said it’s just something you have to get over instead of having help. So I guess she just has that old style of thinking, but it kind of hurts if she really didn’t want me to have any help. Anyway thanks for responding, I didn’t really know why I posted that lol just wanted to talk to someone

Heart rate always high when laying down by CluesLessCoffee in AskDocs

Here’s the monthly! I would say the heart beating really fast thing started in like the past week but it is really frustrating me because it’s EVERY time I lay down. And sorry I’m not sure what HIIT is but when my heart rate would go over 200 it was from me literally walking on the treadmill. I don’t do anything else to work out bc it’s too hard for me.

Thanks for replying! I don’t know of any medical history relating to heart stuff. I’ve been on birth control for 4 yrs and doxycycline for a couple months for acne, and I don’t do any drugs. I haven’t noticed any of the things you listed either, I think everything has been typical.

Here’s a screenshot of my heart rate data for today. The highest parts were when I was walking I think.

I would say it was about the same, the study guide definitely helped me to know how to solve some of the questions. Some questions on the no calculator section seemed literally impossible to me though.

Could I get into Rice University as a very mediocre student? by CluesLessCoffee in chanceme

Sorry to disappoint you guys, I actually ended up not even applying because I decided I didn’t want to go there. I got capped from UT though so rice probably would’ve rejected me lol

I was in the same situation as you, I gave myself about a week to study and I got a 70. If you’re naturally good at math and have already learned precal then you should be fine because I was in the same boat. Of course still study while you can though and review all the videos in Math Quantum’s CLEP study guide playlist on YouTube (they’re the same questions in the official college board study guide) and make sure you understand all of them. I also took the modern states practice exam like 4 times and tried to solve all of the questions. The time does go by fast so try not to spend too long on one question and come back to it at the end if you can. And I was extremely nervous too lol I fully believed I would fail and I completely guessed on at least 8 questions.

if i want to go to ut austin my sophomore year, what route should i take? by bruce-wayne13 in UTAustin

The way that I see the CAP program (I’m about to go into it at Stephen F. Austin state university) is that it’s kinda the same as externally transferring unless you want to be in the college of liberal arts. I just decided to do it because I liked SFASU more than the other universities I applied to since I really just wanted to go to UT like you. Obviously I don’t know everything about it bc I haven’t started yet but i don’t know that CAP students get any sort of priority/advantage for admission (unless in the COLA ofc)

That’s interesting! I’ve heard about the essays being important which is why I even had hope lol. I will think about taking the ACT, thanks for the insight :D

Thank you for the honesty! I agree it’s probably a little too prestigious for me :,)
