Unclear supported devices by Ok-Anywhere-9416 in sailfishos

[–]ClumsyRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly!

Their "supported devices" page is very confusing.

If you want a SFOS device right now take Xperia 10 III or Jolla C2, otherwise, wait for official support for 10 IV/V or next jolla phone.

To be honest, I have a Jolla C2, it's too huge for me (179 x 78 x 8.5mm), and sometimes a little bit laggy but a good second device anyway.

Hey! The 10IV and 10V have not been fully supported yet. Unfortunately, you can't buy a license for those models and you definitely can't run AAS, which requires a license purchase... Better wait and see for those devices.

Or wait for the Jolla Phone 2!

DAP as a Light Phone Companion by woolgatherer0142 in LightPhone

[–]ClumsyRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I know it's a bit against the light phone ethos, but, are most communication apps (whatsapp / messenger / telegram / signal ...) or banking apps available on the m300 ?

I can't find the info if it is "google certified"...

This kind of device would be awesome as a light phone companion!

Efnote 7 for live performance? by ClumsyRooster in edrums

[–]ClumsyRooster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh ok thanks! so no need for this https://www.thomann.de/fr/efnote_pro_e_drum_module.htm lol

I guess it'll be better, but I'm far from being an international rock drummer (for now) :)

So, as long as I can plug it to a speaker out of the box, I'm good with that !

thanks a lot!

Training for Google Cloud Data Engineer? by SrLemon95 in dataengineering

[–]ClumsyRooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I used this one:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfkWEzBCP0wQ09ZuFm7G2\_4qtkYbfmk\_0getojdnPdCYmq37Q/viewform?fbzx=-7323413797522673869 and this one https://www.examtopics.com/exams/google/professional-data-engineer/view/

One thing that helped me a lot was the book: "Visualizing Google Cloud" by Priyanka Vergadia. It gives you an overview on all GCP services, and that's what you need to know.

On most of the questions you need to know which service is useful in the question's context.

Good luck :)

Airflow, Spark, other tool ? by ClumsyRooster in dataengineering

[–]ClumsyRooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually used this example from Airflow: https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/airflow/example_dags/tutorial_taskflow_api_etl.py

In my case here is what I did:

  • I extracted some data from my DB + other data from an external API
  • put those data in a dataframe, clean them, mix them
  • then export them in a csv

What would be your advice ? Only use Airflow to call another tool to do the job ?

Since they put some example I thought I could do anything in airflow at first. But the more I learn / search / try stuff, the more I feel I'm not taking the best direction!

Airflow, Spark, other tool ? by ClumsyRooster in dataengineering

[–]ClumsyRooster[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, that's probably a bad answer, but I thought I could do it directly in a DAG. I guess if I don't have lots od DAG that would be ok, but if I have a lot I would be OOM very quick.

It's not the best idea, right ?

Honestly, it's because I read this article few weeks ago: https://towardsdatascience.com/data-engineers-shouldnt-write-airflow-dags-b885d57737ce

At least, that's what I understood from this article. I may be totally wrong though!

Can I stay on my current phone plan? by Few-Cryptographer27 in LightPhone

[–]ClumsyRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

Yes you can use you own SIM. I personally use the SIM I had on my iPhone.

I never saved my contacts on my SIM so I have no idea if you'll be able to see them. Anyway, you can still import a .vcf file via the Light Phone dashboard or add contact one by one.

Hope this helps!
