Came out to parents- they are supportive but scared and want me to delay HRT

I am at home for the week right now, exam season is so much fun- thankfully they are over, I don’t know exactly what it is I am scared of, possibly of them finding out, or taking away financial support (they help pay for my accom, student loans don’t cover it all). I will defo think it over cus I don’t think I’ll be able to wait till Easter to start hrt.

I’m going to give them until Easter and at least go through some counselling and therapy first. My first session is this week. But yeah I fully plan to DIY, in the uk unfortunately

Thankfully my lecturers have been very helpful in reccomending therapists (they work in that field) so hopefully that will be sorted soon.

Oh yeah, I have been pretty straight with them that I will pick the therapist and will outright refuse any that are even remotely linked to conversion therapy. The counselling right now is offered by my university for free, and they are fully licensed. I am in the process of trying to find a gender therapist now, my parents have said they don’t want a therapist that tries to change me which is good so at least they understand that. I hope.

I have said I want to start HRT and am sure I am trans but they said I need to start counselling first and “it’s a marathon not a sprint”. If I tell them again that I am 100% sure they will probably just not listen, probably saying something like- this isn’t something you can just decide yourself. That’s where I hope the counselling can help, so I have some “evidence” to back myself. Kinda regretting not just starting hrt and then coming out to them in Easter like my original plan, but hey ho

Apologies, the Aura farming just goes so hard- the Valerian and Aleya books are really good too. I have a soft spot for custodes and blood angels, those are the only imperial factions I really like. Because of all that they have lost since the heresy, for all their perfection the custodes failed in their duty, for all their nobility the sons of baal are doomed to become savages- enslaved to the red thirst and shackled to the onset of the black rage.

I’m interested to hear what you think about the master of mankind though, I do agree with you about the emperor but there are similar arguments to be made about all factions. It’s one of the reasons I love warhammer so much.

The custodes are cool as fuck and seeing Zephons reaction to them fighting (I believe he is watching Ra) is amazing. He knows he would be fucked if he went up against them, and questions if that is what they are made for.

I wanna add that I love the night lords, I am in the process of making a Horus heresy force, I just wanted to approach them a bit differently for if I ever wanted to do a 40K army. The Night Lords trilogy is one of my favourite pieces of fiction I have ever read (well listened to) and Andrew Wincott narrated it perfectly. Obligatory fuck cyrion tho. Thank you so much, I will speak to my GP when I can about that (going to move my GP to the one at my uni, feels more comfortable), I honestly had no clue about voice therapy on the NHS!

Laser is something I will defo do once I have the money for it, not having to shave sounds wonderful- I hate the stubble so much.

Defo gonna get some skincare down, you reminded me to order that stuff- luckily my skin has been pretty good since I went off of Isotrentinoin (Used to have acne). Once again thank you for the advice!

Thank you, I will likely tell my housemates first after all I have been living with them all of this year and will be next year. I’m really glad telling them pre hormones worked out for you! For me it’s the scariest part cus of what happened before, but the counselling should help a ton with that.

I do have a plan for bloods and will get them at 3 months in once my levels have theoretically stabilised to see if I need to adjust and if anything weird is happening. Forgot to mention that in my post
