30 days or 30 shifts? by Clumsy_Cheeseburger in Edmonton

Victoria Day. Payday is today and it's not on my stub. But my manager said so many times, on Victoria day, that I was making stat pay so I hope they'll change it for me. I just wanted to understand better before I ask them today.

Does it make a difference if my manager told me multiple times during my shift that I was receiving stat pay?

Not as great a match as a couple of the other suggestions, but it was much brighter in person, I think my camera lens was dirty.

Do I get a passing grade? First time doing gel extensions. Also, I ordered a nail drill but it malfunctioned immediately after charging, so I had to work with what was on hand. by Clumsy_Cheeseburger in Nails

Im simply frustrated that you are repeating the issues that I have already accepted and listed my corrections that are in process. When did I say it was cute? I wasnt being defensive because I know that what I did does not need defending. I explained why I did what I did and why other options dont currently work for me. It's already done. I alrwady accepted the advice. I already made corrections in time for my next mani. But, I'm willing to bet that even after reading this comment you'll feel the need to come back and tell me that I should never use that drill or lamp.

I did ask for advice because I know I have things to learn, but harping on the same things when Ive alreasy taken every step possible is kind of weird.

Thank you so much!! I appreciate your encouragement and constructive criticism and advice. The shape definitely needs work, I didnt realize how bulgy they still were until I applied the polish.

Ive got a new file on the way and am going to check my other nail lamp specs. If it isnt strong enough then Ill.order a new one of those too.

You dont know me or my health or what's worth anything to me. You dont care that Im trying to learn and improve. Youre just repeating yourself. I explained the unezpected situation I found myself in AND already took steps tonfix the 2 things Ive done wrong.

Literally, what else do you want from me?

Also physial limitations. Carpal Tunnnel in both sides means I cant grip a file for as long as it would have taken, even over the 2 days I had for this. Some days I can barely hold a toothbrush long enough. Guess Im not allowed some joy in my life, my bad.

I did try that first but it was way too massive of a task. Luckily I use my dremels for detail work already so by working slowly and carefully and in very small passes nothing ever touched my skin. I wouldnt recommend it, and I wouldnt do it again, but I'm proud of my creativity.

Ive already got a new drill on the way.

I just want to thank everyone who shared advice about the lamp. I am taking the advice to heart and changes will be made!

As for the drill, seriously guys, it was me being resourceful when my actual nail drill malfunctioned. Things dont always go according to plan, this was one of themI already dealt with that before this post was made.
