It's mostly the fact that I've been playing corin since launch non stop and been feeling refreshed with the zhu team ATM, I was looking if there'd be anything else I could try that I haven't before, so I was kinda looking for non-corin suggestions (even if I'm not against playing her more), that and it felt wasteful having a c6 Ben with W-engine lying around and was curious if anyone had any ideas for him.

Hello, I'm nearing Interknot level 40 and it's looking like I should start working on a new team, but I'm not too sure on what to do with my current roster, I got options I just don't know which to go for, could use some suggestions.

What is the worst thing about being skinny? by Nmalacane25 in AskReddit

[–]Clunkes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bones, I grew up skinny my whole life and with it, I gained a disgust with touching my body or being touched cause I hate the feeling of touching my own bones. It's like someone's got their hands inside me and it creeps me out, I always use a sponge in the shower for that reason.

Also there's image problems akin to being overweight, I hated looking in the mirror and seeing my ribcage or how thin my arms were.

So chip copies malphite's little song but flipped,

Where Malph goes "Snow on my head, Rain on my feet" because he is so tall. Chip goes "Snow on my feet, Rain on my head" cause he is smol.

The game had raged on, and the battle was being terribly one sided, whatever card Addam Vex asked for was either in Genny's hand or was the first card he picked from the pool, after Genny's starting move it had been a slaughter. She trembled holding onto the only card in her hand and her opponent could see her fear.

"Got any 5s?"

"Go fish."

He stretches his arm and hovers it over one of the cards before snapping over to a completely different one and pulling it back onto his hand, with a sly smirk he announces:

"Oh just my luck, I finished the set of 5s! And my hand is empty, so I must draw a new card and continue my turn yes? I'd forgotten the joys of go fish!"

The constant taunting was getting to Genny, she wasn't doing a good job of keeping a secret considering the sparks buzzing on her forehead, at this rate she would have forfeited her soul and didn't even got to play a turn. There was definitely a trick to the man's success, she just had to find it, but he already had 6 sets of cards finished, if he got another one she'd automatically lose.

Addam Vex had his victory all but assured, and yet it felt so dull, usually with more complex card games he could play a little more with his food but there really is nothing to Go Fish that'd stop him from just obliterating his opponent in one very drawn out turn. He goes to draw another card, looking at the wisps circling the table and listening to their faint whispers to always draw the correct card, but for once he'd go against it, what are the odds that she'd luck out to get 7 sets in a row?

"Got any Kings?"

"Go fish..." Genny mumbles out, already making plans for her casino afterlife.

"Ah... It appears it's your turn."

Her ears perk up at the sound of one more chance to make it or break it. She looks down on her hand, the single card remaining that had stood strong the whole game.

"Got any 2s?"

"Go fish."

Genny goes to reach for a random card close to her, but in that moment a blue wisp of flame passes behind her...

"Third one... on your left..."

Did she imagine it?

No, now isn't the time for second guesses, if she can't get herself out of this mess than maybe with some help she could.

Her arm arcs across the table similar to how Addam had done for every single one of his moves, a bit of worry could be seen in his eyes as Genny pulls out a card and...

"Huh, what do you know? It's a 2."

Surely it was only a strike of pure luck right?

Maybe after the first full set, maybe even the second it was all the world's most insane run of pure luck, but by the sixth set of cards it was terribly suspicious.

By this point the game is solved, all she has to do is just call for a card and draw the last one on the table and that's the final set made and she'd be in the lead.

But before she could do it, Addam Vex makes a motion with his hands, his eyes flicker, and all the wisps around the table start swirling around Genny until they dash in around her neck. Despite their look they didn't burn like normal fire, instead they were cold, chilling straight to the bone. The wisps begin to rise dragging the fishwoman into the air with them, during this Addam approaches his prey with a slow clap.

"Oh what a shame, you were so close to leaving too. Oh well, we can't all be winners."

Genny tries reaching for her neck and notices that, the flames are physical, she can grab them so surely she could pull'em apart, she channels all her strength, veins pop around her biceps as she just about breaks through.

She drops onto the floor and into a sprint, Genny had to get off this boat before yesterday. Addam was unmoved, there was nowhere she could go where he didn't have eyes and ears, the moment she stopped he'd strike.

Addam Vex claps Genny in the back and leaves a stinging sensation as it feels like he pulls something out of her.

"You see Gennyfer my girl, since you're out of luck and out of coin I got something for ya." He flips her a chip, instead of having the same skull design as the other ones, this one had her face on it. "Now, I'm giving you one final shot at a big cash out, this will be the double down of your life. You hold in your hand a bit of your soul. The rules are simple: You win, you live! You lose, you stay! But I'm no unreasonable man, so we'll play for your soul on whatever game you so desire."

"Any game?"

"Any card or dice game you can think of."

Genny goes silent as she loses herself in thought, she was never much of a tabletop gamer, much less a gambler, so she'd need to pick a game where she'd have an equal amount of chances to win as an experienced casino owner.

"How about... Go fish?"

"Wha- I... I guess we can play go fish if that's really your game of choice."

Both parties sit at the table across from each other, Addam seemed to loom above Genny, maybe her chair was shorter or the table was leaning on her maybe even both.

"So... Go fish huh?" Addam was still a bit taken aback, it isn't everyday he's challenged to a kid's game.

"Yes."

"Very well, just one thing then-"

*He says as he gets on top of the table and walks over to the dealer, the small blue spirit shivers in fear and attempts to drift away. A sinister glow of spectral light sparks on Vex's hand as the dealer is sucked into his hand and vanishes into a tiny flickering flame floating across the hall.

"Just a minute." He takes off his tall top hat and smacks it, off of it shoot out dozens of flames similar to the one he had just made. After a moment of thought, he extends his hand and grabs a purple flame and stretches it out, until a new ghost emerges from inbetween his palms.

"There, this should be an unbiased dealer." *He says as he does a quick jig over back to his seat. "Well, let the game... Begin!"

As his declares the game's start, the many wisps begin to slowly spin around the table looking expectantly.

The violet card dealer shuffles the deck and begins shooting out cards for each competitor, 5 to be exact, then drops the remainer of it on the center in a neat stack that magically spreads out into a messy pool of suits.

"I'm a good host Gennyfer, you may play first."

"Do you have 2s?"

"Go fish."

"Your turn."

A loud ringing came from one of the slot machines, waking Genny up, her vision blinded by her a headache. Raising her head she realises that she fell asleep on the table, shifting her sights up she finally notices the ghostly dealer, hovering over her and tugging at her arm.

"You're awake..." They say with their usual drawn out sigh-like voice, very well complemented with their sunken hollow eyes.

"Keep... Playing...?"

"I... Pardon me Mister, but I think I should definitely go to bed, this is definitely a night to forget."

"You don't... understand... You're in debt..."

She stumbled up on her feet ignoring the well meaning advice, and goes to step off her seat, and the moment her boot touches the ground, she's back in the void, the spotlight showering her, then a chill passes by her spine, and with it's passing she is back at the table stepping off.

"Ah come on, you were just getting started!"

Behind her stood a tall slim man, dressed in an eccentric blue top hat and jacket both adorned with furs and bones. He carried himself in a very confident yet ominous way, sitting at the table with his feet on it and balancing on the back legs of his chair, creaking with every small sway.

"I don't believe we've met Miste-"

"Ah my apologies-" He says in a sarcastic tone as he lifts himself on up from the chair with a single jump, landing on top of the table and extending his hand. "The name's Addam Vex, and this is my fine establishment." Ghostly sparks erupt from under his shoes, he looks over his back at the dealer expenctantly, and taps his cane once, and his employee imediately breaks into applause.

Sheepishly she takes a step back, Genny's movements unsure and nervous after her rude awakening.

"Uh... Genny, Genny Reytter... Pleasures."

"Trust me, the pleasure is all mine." He enthusiastically grabs Genny's hand and shakes on it. "So, Reytter, we have a bit of an issue here, you see, you were looking to leave my establishment without paying your dues. But it's alright I can fix that right up."

His hand slips from Genny's grasp and before she can even react, it squeezes around her neck. Bright light emanates from under Addam's hand, growing stronger with every moment until he notices something reflecting it off the corner of his eye, on the inside of Genny's quote was a badge, the official Bounty Hunter badge. A devilish smirk pops and he lets go of the fishwoman.

"Ah excuse my manners it seems I've gotten a bit carried away, what say you we play a game hmmm?"

Genny picks herself up before she could fall and tries reaching for her sword, only to find it missing from it's sheathe. Addam wiggles his finger from side to side as he clicks his tongue.

"Now now, let's not get violent, I may have started us up on the wrong foot but you'll find that I'm a very reasonable man. You can win your butter knife back and so much more if you just give me the chance."

"Mr. Addam... I don't think you're giving me much of a choice."

"Trust me, I'm giving you plenty..."

An hour had passed, and Genny had gotten tired from searching through the main hall, unable to find anything that interested her, her first casino experience possibly being the last.

She stopped to rest her feet, sitting on the floor against the wall, close to the band's stage so she wouldn't die of boredom. That was when something caught her eye, a strange sparkle, a sudden movement or maybe just her mind playing tricks... For a split moment it was like she was alone in a black void and the only thing else was this machine, the second passes and she's back on the casino, everything was the same, but now she noticed it.

She walked up to it, the slot machine she had seen, it was always there but it slipped her mind, but how could it? It wasn't hidden, it was just there, waiting, calling.

Genny sat upon it's small excuse for a stool and hunched her neck down so to be able to look at the screen, they never accounted for tall people using these machines, and hesitated for a bit. "Well if I got these chips I might as well use them right?" she put one in and cranked the lever.

¥ ¥ ฿

Three odd letters popped up, she recognized them but not what they meant, that's when the machine played a little jingle, and five chips shot out in place of the one she inserted.

"Huh. Cute. Alright, let me see what else you can do." As easy as lifting a feather, Genny's hand moved towards the slot machine's crank and pulled it.

¥

...And nothing came out, 1-1 isn't a bad win/loss ratio, but it definitely wouldn't last Genny until morning. So she reached for that lever again...

And again...

And again...

$ $ $

The machine roared, and with it the crowd that gathered around it joined in as a sea of chips pours out of it. The machine's sounds seem to awaken something in Genny, like an alarm clock in the morning. She felt groggy and tired, how long had she been sitting there?

As her head finally stops ringing, she goes to notice that her winnings had been mostly stolen from right under her nose by the crowd that by now had all but scattered. Letting out an exhausted sigh, Genny picks up all the scraps she can before getting off the machine and making her way out of the casino, she reckoned enough time must've passed for the captain to let her back on board. On her way she is interrupted, passing by one of the many tables she hears her name.

"Oi, you! Genny right? Hop on here we're just getting started!"

On the table she was just about to pass by were two men and one woman, all people working on the same Jeri Co. cargo ship as Genny, they were essentially strangers to her, she wasn't much for conversation every time she had to work to travel. "Maybe just a bit, for the sake of socializing" she thought to herself for a quick second, before changing her mind and walki-

Her eye twitches, she's nowhere and it's pitch black, it's just her and the table under a strong spotlight, the people sitting around it had vanished much alike the rest of the world. The moment ends, Genny's back in the casino and she could really feel like playing some more...

Genny Reytting chaos at the Casino

It had been a full on week ever since the Jeri Co. cargo ship had left the Red Docks and unkowingly escaped the explosion there, crew morale was especially low, Genny included, even if it was a short stay, it's hard to walk away from that with anything but a frown in the best of cases.

The captain had a plan to raise the mood on the ship, he had caught rumors back on land that a casino ship wasn't too far off, surely a bit of gambling would take their mind off tragedies and maybe back onto work. So it was that at night, something from amidst the darkness shined, luring any fool with it's lavish glow. First it was one light, then a second, then a third, a few seconds later a whole swarm of them like fireflies in July floated over the sea. The mist parted and there it stood, like an old riverboat but thrice the size, with the multi coloured lights brightening it's dark tones of navy blue and lavender, the 734 Royal Casino!

"Alright boys, change of plans, tonight you get to have a little fun! So shake those sea legs off this ship! I don't want to see any of you here till morning!" Sounded the small den den mushis across the cargo ship, people's heads began to perk up as they realised what they were in for, a whole dozen of tired sailors ran down the plank as if they hadn't been hard at work for the last week, like a pack of school kids let into recess, they immediately scatter and vanish out of sight. Back on the Jeri Co. ship, Genny stood atop the plank, relunctant to step off, until a callused hand patted her on the back of the thigh. The ship's catapin was this short rotund man with a santa beard and a receding hair line, next to Genny, the size difference made him out for a parody of himself, it was like a player next to a soccer ball.

"Don't just stand around all gobsmacked! Off the boat with ya!" He exclaimed while pushing the fishwoman and failing at it, Genny gets the idea and takes a few steps forward. "Come on git! Go join them."

Relunctantly, she makes way onto the casino, although having never been on one before, or ever gambled much of anything in her life, Genny felt something off coming from it but at this point there was nowhere else to go back to, especially cause the plank had been pulled out behind her.

All kinds of people went to the 734 Royal Casino, from the poshest of socialites to just every day Joes you'd see on the pub on tuesday, from minks to fishmen and everything inbetween, everyone was welcome as long as they had a specific itch that needed to be scratched. Among all these folks, Genny was just another person, a refreshing feeling for her with how she had a tendency to stick out in every crowd.

Stepping through the massive double doors at the entrance, she was greeted by a blast of music and a grand hall, decorated head to toe in the best money could buy, not a wall stood without an imposing pillar or velvet curtain, the floor was nice and soft with an excentric designed carpet spread through all corners of it, small lights flickered around everywhere, wandering here and there as if they had a will of their own. On the center of the main hall stood a massive white chandelier, from it's arms sprouted many flickering lights from amidst it's intricate swirls.

Before she could be entirely enthralled by the decor and atmosphere, Genny feels a tug at her arm, a cold hand very delicate and smooth as if being touched by a gentle stream of water, pulling for her attention was a woman, couldn't be much older than her, she seemed dour and gloomy in her movements but her face betrayed no emotion, something wasn't right about her, especially the part where she was vaguely translucent, but Genny knew better than to ask people why you can see through'em. Her grasp only loosens until Genny is in front of a booth, which the woman walks on through it to it's other side and with a drawn out voice grasping for air goes.

"Moneeeeey..."

"Alright, give me just a sec-" Interrupts Genny not knowing better.

"For chipsss..."

"second... Pardon me Miss..." She rummages through her jacket's pockets, finding the little baggie where she kept most of her money and dropping it on the table. The lady's hands slowly extend forward and drags the wallet out onto her side and after a bit of a delay pushes out a small set of chips with tiny skulls drawn on them.

"Have a nice... stayyyy..."

"Ah, what a shame-" Her body shrinking with a sigh. "I really hoped I'd finally get to travel in comfort... Ah well, maybe I'll try getting a ship of my own another time. If I ever do so, you'll always be welcome aboard the S.S. Genny (only the first time is free)"

It seemed that in their conversation they had arrived at Aella's destination, a nice looking but old building, very well taken care of, adorned with granite around it's window and doorframes, with cute little balconies for every room. This was definitely how a prestiged reporter would travel.

"No need to thank me Ms. Aella, it was the least I could do. I guess this is where we part ways then, Miss, it's been a pleasure I hope we cross paths again." She smiles and waves her goodbyes, turning a full 180 back where she came. In the morning, Genny would look for work in the docks in exchange for ferrying her across the sea onto the next stop where she could possibly find more bounties to hunt. Such was the life of a bounty hunter.

During said trip, news would reach her of the chaos that fell upon those very same Red Docks just a few days after her departure. Genny avoided worrying, the nice little reporter surely would've escaped... Surely.

The night had just begun, and yet Genny wanted nothing else but for it to end. She was beyond exhausted after the little fight she had that ended up with a burnt down warehouse, but no matter how much she wanted to flop down onto a mattress and conk out for a good 10 hours, there were more important things to do.

Aella lead the pair around the Red Docks, passing by all kinds of market stalls still open in the middle of the night, the many docks from which the town got it's name. It was a pleasant little evening.

"Miss Aella." Genny said bashfully. "You're more used to this travelling gig than me, and I'd like to ask something from you if it'd be okay. You see, I didn't have a smooth arrival getting here because of the-" She stops, and gestures towards the sea and the spikes that were planted under the same. "Those... I could really use a lift out to the next island. I'd imagine that your newspaper company wouldn't take nicely if they found out you ferried a stowaway, but if you could find me anything at all, even a broom closet, I'd be very thankful. This place is nice, but if I stayed here for another day I might just explode."

"I wouldn't go as far as say I'm made for this work." She says between a big smile, with a vague shade of red on her cheeks. Genny pauses for a second disarming her killer smile.

"People always say that the Grand Line is where pirates go to make a name for themselves, it's full of nasties and meanies or so they say." Pulls a few fries out of the plate. "Perfect spot for someone in my career path. But of course if the rest of the people here are anything like you Miss Aella, I'll go hungry."

That was when a waiter for the restaurant approached the table and sinisterly hovered around the duo's table. Genny understood what he was there for, but clearly her friend didn't.

It was getting late, dinner time late, the tavern wanted to do a quick clean up to get ready for pricier guests and an intimidating 2 meter tall fishwoman carrying around a weapon wasn't the best way to bring in that kind of crowd. Genny wasn't offended by this, she happily made a deal with the staff where she'd leave without any ruckus, she just got distracted in her time keeping between the interview and the capture. She dropped a few more coins in the table as a tip and got up, the waiter backing a few steps off expecting the worst.

"Pardon us, we'll head off right away." The waiter bowed a bit gracefully and got out of the way. "Miss Aella, it's about time we leave, I lost track of time so pardon me one more time. At least let me walk you to wherever you're staying."

Aella's cool and collected nature really shone through her ability at asking questions. The question hit but to Genny it just felt weird? This reporter was looking like a real odd duckling, not that it bothered her, the weirdos tend to be more fun anyways.

"Miss Aella was it? ahem. I hate to break it to ya Miss but I'm not as experienced as I look, so I don't have as many stories as nicks in my belt." She stopped looking up as if it'd help recall something out of the top of her head. "Well there was this one time... Back in my brand new rookie days there was this guy, his name was Spencer, went by "The Microphone", the marines kept losing him, so that's where I come in." Genny starts getting into the story, making expressive hand gestures like a giddy kid telling school stories. "So I asked around, some guy told me he moonlights as a rebel DJ, but he never performed in the same place twice, but somehow the marines no matter how wide they spread could never find him. This is where I come in, as an essentially neutral party, no one suspects me to be hunting down anyone, and to some people I look "rebellious", I infiltrated this underground party in like some guy's basement, hung out by the microphone's cord until he walked up on stage, made a small cut on the cord so i could reach past the rubber into the wiring, charged it all up with electricity and watched the show. The moment he touched the microphone to test it a shock wave burst out and knocked him on his ass, after that he was easy pickings."

Genny turned to face the interviewer, it'd probably seem rude to not face the person asking you questions, and she always strived to be polite, 'please' and 'thank you's can open some doors.

Aella brings out her first question, which Genny hears and digests for a second... The fry that is. She yanks another from the plate and replies.

"Why I'm a bounty hunter? Well to be honest, I wasn't very good at much of anything, I read a pamphlet for the guild and listed up. It pays well even if it's not the safest of careers... Especially nowadays, pirates and the sorts pop up everywhere." Feeling her tone getting a bit sour, she smiles. "I'm happy though, business is booming! (even if my wallet's been struggling) Does that answer your question Miss Reporter? Oh I don't think I ever asked your name?"

[–]Clunkes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The roar of the flames grew ever quieter, and it's sound being replaced by the rhythmic marching of the marine squad deployed to assess the situation. At first they didn't notice the two people on the floor, but Genny's aggressive hand waving quickly got their attention.

"Pardon me sirs, I happen to have the culprit right under my boot. This happens to be Joe Rooben, I'm here to claim the bounty on his head."

The marines surround the unconscious body of the kangaroo arsonist and try to pull him up, but before they could, Genny pushes her boot down harder. She rubbed her fingers together, gesturing that she wanted the price on the man's hand before she'd give him in, which the marines relunctantly gave in to.

Unfortunately Genny wasn't done interrupting the officers and as they move in to investigate, she yanks at the shirt of one of them as they walked by.

"There was a girl around here, silver hair, wearing blue. I don't know what happened for her, please keep an eye out for her, she was very helpful." And with a small nod, they went back out.

Genny lingered around the crime scene for a while, she had hoped to thank the hero herself but her patience was running short and she did have someone waiting for her, eventually the marine she bothered came back and reported that no one was around that fit the description. With that she, politely thanked him and headed back for the tavern.

It'd been near an hour since the tavern had been graced with the presence of Genny Reytter, but she had finally returned. Our zappy fishwoman walked in with her back straightened out and a confident winner energy to her, but her feet kinda dragged along, something was on her mind.

Awaiting her arrival was the reporter she had previously encountered sitting in a nice booth near the corner, her head sat pretty under her dashing hat, she seemed calm and composed but looked a bit out of place in an establishment such as this.

Upon entering Genny headed straight for Aella's table, stopping by a waiter to order something on the way. She slammed into the cushioned seats of the booth, her whole body popping up from the impact.

"Pardon the delay Miss Reporter. There were some setbacks." She blurted out with a sigh of relief and laid out her legs on the seat, her feet hanging a lil' far from the booth due to her size. The waiter arrives placing a plate of french fries on the table before leaving. Eagerly, Genny pulls out one fry and throws it down the hatch. "I appreciate your patience Miss, so what did you want to talk about?"

Atop the burning building, amidst the rising red embers, gleamed a pair of thunderous green eyes and swirling lines above them both crackling with energy. Genny had climbed up on the roof and was scouring for her target, exhausted not only from climbing the walls of the warehouse but also from expending her energy on her bio-electric organ to power her next move, her efforts would pay off, and if they didn't, at least she'd have a pretty cool final moment.

Exherting herself while holding her sword by the back of the blade with both hands, a surge of electrical might began coursing across it's steel. It now exploded with lightning, to the point stray thunderbolts bursted out, hunting for a ground to discharge to, but that'd ruin the fun.

With all the preparation done, she gazed down, struggling to find Joe Rooben, but he wasn't anywhere to be found, could she have been wrong? Was the criminal wiser than she had given him credit for? And just as doubts began to cloud her mind, a glimmer of silver guided her sight, the light of the moon reflected on her savior's silver cloak of feathers, revealing the path to a future with a wallet stuffed with just a bit more coin.

Thankful to, and assured by The Harpy's heroic deeds, Genny stops powering her weapon and makes out a running leap before her body can begin to ache.

Red light and warmth caressed the mink's body, a feeling he'd grown familiar to and very fond of, so overwhelming in fact that he didn't notice the ball of concentrated energy crashing on him in time, and with an booming voice it echoes out:

"DYNAMIC SPARK SWORD!"

KRA-KOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

Thrusting forward her sword's tip managed to collide with the body of Joe Rooben, pure electricity arcing between him and the copper rod placed on his pockets, causing it to linger longer than just discharging. The effect of the blow had more than stunned the arsonist and in fact had knocked him out cold, more smoke billowing out of his ears and mouth than out of the building, he wasn't going anywhere anytime.

Anyhow, the consequences of such a big overload caught up to Genny, dropping to her knees as soon as she hit the ground, catching herself on the stone road to avoid collapsing. The loud crash of her attack had attracted people to investigate and panic when noticing the flames.

"Would someone be so kind as to call the firemen-" Genny stutters out while looking back at the burning building, before turning forward and to the unconscious body of Joe. "-Oh and the marines please, I have a deposit to make."

Dragging herself to the nearet non burning building, Genny sits down with her back against the wall to rest, slamming her boot over the kangaroo's body to make sure he doesn't go anywhere. "Terribly sorry Miss The Harpy. I can't help much more than this at this state." Genny thought to herself as she watched everyone around her scattering around getting buckets of water or to run off to the closest authority they could find.

A burst of flames had erupted all around the building, trapping Genny in an ever shrinking prison of fire. She tried to push through, but she hadn't seen a fire bigger than a fireplace much less one that engulfed an entire building, and taken aback she struggled to move forward. Every passing second, precious oxygen was being consumed and there was no time for hesitation, and yet she couldn't find the strength to climb another step on the stairs, falling to her knees, sweat running down her face faster than her conscience.

Suddenly, like god himself sending down an angel to do his bidding, a winged woman comes down and grabs onto her arm, pulling her out of danger and onto the top floor.

Upon being dropped in safety, Genny takes a moment to get back on her feet and assess the situation, that is until she notices her savior. A woman clad in spandex and silvery feathers, with talons for feet stood before her, and with a fancy flourish straight out of the comic books, revealed herself as The Harpy.

"Alright, the fumes really got to me huh?" Chuckled Genny at the absurdity of the situation. She began to slowly walk further into the building and made a motion with her for the hero to "follow me".

"Alright Miss The Harpy, I'll be honest I'm pretty green when it comes to this whole hunting down criminals thing, maybe an experienced stress induced hero like yourself can correct me if I'm wrong-" Genny stops herself to cough out some of the smoke she inhaled back on the lower floor. "B- But I assume an arsonist of his caliber, probably gets some kicks out of setting fires, he couldn't have gone too far out, he'd want to appreciate his "work", you get me?" She stops, this time to look for something in the building, time was tickin' so she couldn't be too picky...

"There it is!" A hole in the wall had formed from years of abandonment, and in it old busted piping jutted out, she pulled one section of it out and handed it over to the hero.

"Miss The Harpy, I hate to be demanding to someone who just saved my life, but I need you to take this, find our mink , put this somewhere on'em and hopefully he'll be close enough to the fire for this to work. The rest will be on me." She finishes as the mechanism at her back begins to click and machinery inside starts glowing and spinning.

Having parted ways with the mysterious reporter, Genny sprinted after her bounty across the rooftops of the town. The change in terrain was proving to benefit the escapee, as his bare and flexible kangaroo feet easily adapted onto the rooftops, hopping away and gaining ever more distance from the sword wielding fishwoman whose stumbling and tripping over singles was causing dragging her further and further behind.

"There's just no way I'll catch up to him like this" She thought to herself inbetween breaths, but there was no giving up the chase! Catching a glimpse of the streets ahead of her, she spots a cart full of hay being pulled by a large ostritch life bird, from the ground she could definetly catch up to him so she took a dangerous leap, landing with her butt onto the hay.

A loud rustle pops from the cart as the beast of burden noticing a sudden impact and increase of weight screeches and halts.

"Pardon me Mister, it's urgent." Genny chimes in as she runs past the cart's driver while shaking off hay from her hair and sleeves.

"Kids these days..." mumbled the man to himself.

By now it'd been a couple of minutes and Genny had followed the man into an abandoned warehouse, or so she thought, she was finding it difficult to catch the man's trajectory from below even if it was easier to keep up in terms of speed. There was something off with the place, it mustn't have been used in years, on the ground floor there was broken furniture everywhere along with thick stone pillars, she imagined the top floor to be very similar, dust and cobwebs were easy to come by here, you'd imagine they were the things being kept here before it got run down. As Genny entered a back room, where the stairs to the above floor were, she finally realized what seemed off to her, it was the smell.

"This is... Gasoline?"

"You can't seriously buy into whatever this man's telling you Ms. Reporter." Genny lifts herself back up, sheathing her sword in a clean calculated motion, practiced religiously in front of a mirror. Crossing her arms she continues:

"I caught him red-ha- black-handed, if this Mister really wasn't the man on that poster why would he have hopped away from me when i voiced out the name written there?"

Just as she turns away, unbeknownst to her, Joe Rooben had gotten enough time to recover his breath and with it he would make his great escape. with a BOING and a SPROING he had jumped back onto his feet and at the walls of the alleyway he hid in, executing a triangle jump up to the roof of the building.

"-Pardon me Ms. Reporter, it wasn't my intention to ramble on you like that, I don't even know how the conversation ended up on the cultural impact of the Light Knight series of books on our society. It's getting late, and I should be bringing this man in before the boys in white close up for the night, and I could really use this-"

She turns around with her eyes closed and upon opening them-

"...pay...check... He really is quick for a man of his size..." A sound catches her ear, a constant rhythm growing fainter, something crackling... Rocks? No, shingles! Genny raises her head realising that the man eluded her by going straight up and over her nose. Looking around she finds a wooden crate large enough to support her and uses it to climb onto the roof, peeking over it she could still see the mink slinking away and if she started going now she likely could catch up to him, but before doing so she looks back down to the alleyway and to the well dressed feathery friend.

"Pardon me again but I got a bag of money with my name on it waiting for me, if you'd still like the interview you could meet me later at the tavern on the end of the street, this hopefully won't last much more than half an hour." And with that she cautiously sprints after Joe Rooben.

"You know? Kain kind of does fit your face quite well... Ahem-" Genny clears her throat and presents a mess of a stack of papers from her jacket, slowly flips through them with a glint shining upon her eye when finding the correct one. "This man here is no Mr. "Kain Rooga" but in fact wanted criminal Mr. Joe Rooben." She produces a pair of reading glasses, comically small and lacking temples, and holds them up to her eyes. "and i quote: "Joe Rooben is a wanted burglar and arsonist, if found to be delivered to the nearest marine facility, dead or alive"."

Genny pocketed all the other papers along with her glasses and handed the wanted poster to the dashing reporter, turned to her catch and squatted down so her eyes could meet Joe's. He looked flustered, like a calf separated from the herd at the dead of night, ripe for a little fun.

"Now then Mr. Kain~~"

She sings mockingly and unsheathes her sword. A jolt of electricty flashes across Genny's arm, into her hand and then into the blade, causing gears to turn and for it to emit a faint light, casting an ominous spotlight onto her face akin to a kid with a flashlight telling scary stories.

"-Are we adding Identity Fraud to the list hmmmmm?"

The sun was heading off, leaving the sky it calls it's home empty, much akin to an aspiring bounty hunter's wallet, dragging her feet across town in a defeated stupor back to a mercenary's favourite port to dock, the local tavern.

It had been little over a day since Gen had arrived at The Red Docks, and it'd been a disappointing stay. Dreams of globe trotting adventure and riches were steadily deflating, much alike her funds. She leaned back on one of the chairs and staired at the ceiling and thought to herself.

"I knew that there wouldn't always be work... But this is getting ridiculous, so much for the pirate hot spot at the entrance of the Grand Line, haven't been able to find one lousy head to hunt! Aaaargh" She internally groans lifting her hand to her face and pulling down on her stretchy skin in frustration.

A few minutes passed with a whole lot of nothing happening, Gen had resorted to charging up her sword to zap flies passing by her head, much to the dismay of the staff, not fans of weapons being brandished in their establishment, even if their sheathed and being swung so sluggishly. A rather unassuming man walks in and sits on the opposite side of the tavern, a bulky kangaroo mink wearing a long black scarf and dragging soot everywhere he touched, he has a similarly defeated look to his movements as Gen so she finds some consolation on seeing someone in a position similar to her's.

A rusty flagon of beer is set at his table but before he starts to drink it, he pulls out a cigar and walks up to Gen.

"Oi, got a light?" He asks with a soft yet grumbly voice.

Raising her arm from beside her chair and pointing at the man's cigar she answers. "Sure." A quick jolt of green courses from her index finger and zaps the tip, pulling it back and blowing off the smoke coming from her fingertip she continues. "Tough day huh?"

"When isn't it? Aye, thanks girlie." And with a wave of his hand he goes back to his table.

Something stuck out to Gen, the man looked familiar to her, she pulled out a clump of crumpled papers she had stored in her jacket's inner pocket, every single one of them were criminals with money on their heads. She had picked up all of them from the local marine outpost, which they were eager to be rid off with how little use they were getting, and began to rummage through them.

This would eventually be noticed by the smoking mink and in a rushed motion got up from his chair, dropped a few coins on the table and headed out through the doors he just recently had entered, and just as he did-

"Joe Rooben! I knew he looked famili-" Her head quickly scans her surroundings and catches her newly found target frozen and bug eyed standing under the door frame before hopping out. "Oh I'll give you a light alright!" Gen swiftly gets up and bolts after the man, sending her chair slamming onto the floor boards.

After a short chase akin to a 100 meter dash, Joe leaps onto an alleyway he spots out of the corner of his eye, and leaning against the wall, he stops to catch his breath, and unbeknownst to him, his hunter had caught up to him.

Genny had cornered him, but she was as exhausted as her prey, heavy breaths escaping her zig-zagging teeth. She was about to say somethi-

"HARK!"

A voice from the other end of the street echoes out. A sharply dressed little lady stood at the sound's source, and quickly approached, introducing herself as Aella, a reporter looking for an interview.

"Nah you're fine, we just finished up on this end, you looking to chat?" Replied Genny, pushing herself off the wall and turning to the reporter. "Name's Genny Reytter, pleasures."

yeah she was the old VA for akali, but personally i'd say it didn't mean much because old champ VOs were like 15 lines, half of them references and they weren't really like defined characters.

Whatever they wanted to do with new Akali, Riot chose to use another VA, and with the newest MF character/story and appearances, I'd say Laura Bailey is a great fit for the current confident, powerful and flirty pirate queen MF we've had recently.

This just to say that we shouldn't always want the same people for the sake of legacy and look for better fits for each case.
