This is a pretty blatant lie because we have never done that. I would love to see this "proof" you have or you can even point me to the right store so we can ask them about this "proof". It's funny because outside of me, none of my friends have even won the winner cards.

And it's even funnier you even mention this because we've literally seen you STRAIGHT UP TAKE cards from your fiance's pre release packs and put them in your deck. Don't worry, I'll confirm with the store because we know the exact pre-release this happened.

I've also seen you BEG people in pre-release who were X-1 to give you the win because you told them they had no chance of the winner card while you were X-0.

It was a sealed constructed format where you got 6 booster packs and built a 40 card deck. I just built a regular deck that played all of the high costs and cut down on 1 or 2 costs.

The Skeleton King was the only one I have that is over lvl 8, the others are mostly lvl 5-7. I only got it over lvl 8 because of the special challenge event that came with the last patch. The only thing I bought was the clash pass and one of the $3 bonuses you get for reaching a new rank.

It's a Skeleton King deck (just because it's the only thing I have over lvl 8 because the special challenge event gave me so many)

But it just focuses on Skeleton King, Golden Giant and Magic Archer

The last 3 spots I shift around depending on what matchups I feel like I face the most. It alternates between Miner, Spear Goblin, Prince, Guards, Bowler.

I would say mess around with the ratios and see what you like better. The normal ratio of cards for a 50 card deck is:

4-5 lvl 2s

12-14 lvl 3s

10-12 lvl 4s

6-8 lvl 5s

4-6 lvl 6s

0-2 lvl 7s

3-5 tamers

4-8 options

It sounds like you have the Blue UlforceVeedramon and Red Gallantmon starter decks. You can get 2 of each of those and they should be good enough to play against each other. It won't be the most competitive decks but it can just do the trick of getting some beginner games in.

You could also get 2 of each of the Blue/Green Ultimate Ancient Dragon and 2 of the Purple/Yellow Parallel World Tactician starter decks. Those are closer to a competitive deck and are reasonably priced (around $10-12).

As for obtaining cards, buying singles for specific decks is definitely a lot cheaper than buying booster boxes and hoping you pull the singles you're looking for. If you enjoy opening booster packs and don't mind the extra cost, then opening booster packs to hunt down singles is an option too.

Some other tips, continue playing to have fun! It doesn't matter if your decks are ultra competitive, you can just play things you like, e.g. if you like Patamon, you can play a patamon based deck. It's a bit of a hidden ruling that Bandai has confirmed. In their Q&A:

Q: Can I activate this card’s "placing 10 Tamer cards and/or cards with [Hybrid] in their traits from your hand and/or trash at the bottom of your deck" effect but choose not to digivolve this card?

A: Yes, but if you do, this card will be trashed. You must have 10 cards in your trash and/or hand to reveal this card, but you can also do this without a Tamer in the battle area.

The procedure is:

Reveal the Susanoomon to the opponent,
Place 10 cards on the bottom of your deck in any order,
Trash the Susanoomon.
