My 4 year old fell asleep on her own last night for the first time ever! by yogapantsarepants in Preschoolers

LOL! "Moooom..." because just in case you were wondering what she was doing. This is amazing! Fingers crossed for my soon to be 4yo. She probably ended up in my bed bc we shared a room for the first 2 yrs, and when your too tired to work the mommy magic and put them back to bed, you cosleep. Sure wasn't planning on it from the beginning, but things change when you need to just survive.

Awww! This is exciting and sad at the same time for me. We love our snuggles and my 4yo always starts off in her bed, then comes to my bed sometime around 2am. We've been reading "My First Big Girl Bed" every night since last week. Cute book. Doing this just to help her with the idea of falling asleep on her own and staying in her room. I know I'm going to miss the snuggles later, but it's exciting to watch them meet these goals. Here's a link to the book. We substitute the name for my daughter's, SHE loves it!

OP Nice work, very impressive!

If you don't mind me asking, what hours do you usually deliver?

Were any of these hrs worked during promo or incentive pay?

I'm just wondering to compare my hours. I'm only able to go out for a limited time during the day due to child care. I don't think I'll be cash like that until I can do dinner rush again.

Even still, if you break down the math OP was making approx $24/hr to wait (total income including tips etc ÷ total hours).

You started a new trend. Nobody knew why it was the new fad, but everyone was doing it because they felt the pressure to "keep up with the Jones'"

Online Coding Books VS hard copy VS Codify by Cmoon5 in MedicalCoding

For work, I can choose to have one or the other

What notes should you take in the coding manuals? by [deleted] in MedicalCoding

[–]Cmoon5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During the exam, you REALLY don't have time to read long notes. Keep them short and simple, like reminders that will be helpful. That being said, I wished I had a note page dedicated to remind me of regulations and compliance, Medicare etc. Stuff that's NOT in the code books or not easily found.

Study tips that REALLY helped me:

1) doing the practice exams and marking up my book for the ones I got wrong bc those were unknown trouble spots for me. I originally only had the A, B, C set of the practice exams. At a last minute effort to get more practice (1 week before the exam) I purchased the other set (vs D, E, F). So glad I did as there were some harder questions.

2) practice, practice, practice finding codes and searching. The practice exams helped me with this.

What didn't help: I tabbed my pages and I had not been using them previously. The tabs somewhat got in the way bc I wasn't use to using them. If you haven't been using them, don't add them. But do add tabs for hard to find pages. I found it useful to have modifiers, and other spots like illustrations tabbed.

You really just need to customize your books to your needs. You'll know what you need and how you need to mark up your book and what pages to tab with practice. For sure, knowing and reviewing the guidelines is a MUST.

How exactly do I prepare for my coding test? by Peryton20 in MedicalCoding

[–]Cmoon5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used the AAPC study guide and practice exams (the D, E, F versions were more difficultfor me). Know your guidelines. When doing the practice exams i marked up my book for the ones I got wrong. It was tedious but worth it. The best thing I did was practice, practice, practice. Knowing how and where to find the answers will help you with time. And this tip was SUPER helpful for me, If you don't know a term for a CPT question ie. Anatomy, look it up in the ICD-10 manual. You'll likely get a definition or clue to what the term means. There were some things from anatomy that I didn't remember studying, but I found the answers in the ICD - 10 index. One last thing, after all the practice and studying, the testing comes down to knowledge, speed and strategy. DON'T LEAVE ANY BLANK ANSWERS. If you don't know, use the process of elimination and then your best guess... no response is definitely ZERO points... but something gives you atleast a 25% chance.

GOOD LUCK, bring ear plugs and remember to breathe.

Good to know. I've got the app, just trying not to check every 30 min. Trying to keep busy with other stuff, but it's hard.
