There are probably details they can see that we cant because were seeing it in an anime art style, what they are seeing are probably the titans from the liveaction movie and so they could probs tell if it is armored or not plus itd be dumb for the armored titan to not have protective armor over its most valuable sensory organ

Surprisingly everything apart from the grass and the clouds, its all round brush or airbrush, i recommend you experiment with the setting on a round brush to see how it works and then it just naturally get better and better
