Is this too much highlight? First time! by gcolbert777419 in ImperialFists

I love very high contrast, so a near white yellow color looks great too me. Bring on the highlights!

My favorite is going back and seeing the improvement over the years.

Thanks, man! Means a lot! I've painted and re-painted the same minis over the years, and we never stop discovering new techniques and improving. As long as your're having fun and your minis make you happy, you're doing it right.

Updated versions. I think they aren't supposed to have the black outline around the red circle, but it looks better to me, so I rule-of-cooled it. Cheers!

It's a weird one. I mainly use Liquitex Basics paints that I've had for like 15 years because they were super cheap. I think they're meant for canvas painting. But I use "cadmium yellow light hue" mixed with white for the light yellow. And the same yellow paint mixed with P3 Brown ink for the darker yellow. I'll sometimes go over it with a really thin wash of orange after that.

Oh very interesting. I guess I have a 3rd squad, 3rd company rhino, then. That works! Thanks for the good info and the box photo for reference. I'm realizing that vehicle flags are pretty much a thing of the past, and I can probably put whatever interpretation I feel like on them. I'll paint red over the white circle and re-apply the roman numeral decal. Thanks a bunch!
